Don't stay here

Reviewed 2 november, 2022

Not recommended. Dirty and small room. Heating on full blast. Shower poor. Cosy £135 for two nights. Didn't stay the second night. The fire alarm wasn't attached to the ceiling which is a health and safety hazard and the window wouldn't open. You can stay at other local hotels for slightly more which is what we wish we had done

Old guy at reception was horrible and unprofessional. Room smelt thick with mould WE FOUND LIVE LICE IN BED! When we told the owner he said he didn’t know about it and wouldn’t offer a refund. Absolute horror of a place

Poor Customer Service

Reviewed 29 august, 2022

I booked two rooms in this property, when I reached on booking date , found very pathetic condition of room, built in loft, with ceiling windows , curtain fixed with nail and dirty, windows , smelly carpet, and top of that having uncleaned toilet. Overall, both room were very suffocating and difficult to stay. I approached to reception where a 65 plus man standing who totally out of mind , I requested to change my rooms, he totally denied as his computer is not working and he is going to home shortly, he gave me room key code , written on small piece of paper, even I offered him to pay more for changing into clean rooms, he refused again . I finally left the property bz my family was not ready to stay here and book immediately another property at higher price and shifted their . I complained then but they did not compensate me and did not receive refund yet. Please don’t book this property, having name “ The Royal Guest House “ Dingwall , Scotland, it is waste of money. Thanks

Complimentary Continental Breakfast appreciated.

Reviewed 28 august, 2022

I stayed at The Royal Guest House previously in October 2022 and my stay was fine. For this reason, I came back August 2022 due to a last minute change of plans. As far as my experience with this place has been, there haven't been any issues. The only quibble is the skylight blind in Room 18 (where I was staying) does need replacing. Other than that, as a base to stay overnight for a few nights, it has done the job. Donald was helpful and the complimentary continental breakfast and free parking over at the Waverley Inn (virtually opposite) was much appreciated.
