Good, could be great

This hotel is good for a city trip to Düsseldorf. Check in was fine, we had a room with balcony facing the garden. It was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The bed was a little too soft for our liking but that's personal. Breakfast was very good too. Unfortunately their restaurant is closed and that also meant no room service. There are good restaurants nearby though. The bar also seemed to be closed at night which may also be due to staff shortage. Parking possible in the Q car park next to the hotel. We paid 44 euro for apprx. 44 hours. You can walk to the city centre or get on a tram which we found very easy to use. All in all it's a good hotel that could be great if they offered more service concerning food and drinks. Nevertheless...we'd stay there again.
Not good enough for over 500Euros a night

Just stayed for one night in one of the best rooms - 513, suite with outside balcony - and to be really honesty - I was not impressed. The suite itself is fine - big and the outdoor area nice (if you like to look into the homes of the residential buildings across the street), but the whole place feels a little weird - like a converted office block on an industrial park - despite the fact you are in the middle of town. If you are looking for ‘charm’ or ‘character’ you’ve come to the wrong place. In fact the late night walk from the nearby parking to the hotel is positively scary. The problems begin with the cleanliness - its fine - but not spotless. The bathroom had a distinct smell of sewage and damp - despite being a good size. The pillows are awful (and I know that’s a personal choice and in fairness they did deliver a better pillow on request). I couldn’t get the air conditioning to stay on in either room, and it was a rare warm October night, and it was hot - so in the middle of the night, I had to open the balcony door. The bedroom curtain also doesn’t close completely, so had sunlight waking me up at 7am. The walls were marked by the bed (I didn’t want to look too closely) and one of the towels was also dirty and stained. Trying to get back to sleep was also tricky, as the noise from the slamming doors in the hallway - made it all the way through the lounge area into the bedroom. The staff I met (no one there on return to the hotel at 1am) were nice and friendly, but for over 500 Euros a night…its just a larger than average Travelodge.

Arrived in the evening having travelled all day, jumped in the shower to discover there was no shower gel. Could not call reception because the in room phone was not working. The room Desk lamp was also not working. Reception advised they could not do anything about the phone or lamp until the next day, which was my departure day anyway. Small room, hard thin crappy old towels. Not great to be honest.
Good hotel and location

15 minutes max from the airport in a nice area of Düsseldorf. Parking next door Euro 20 per day. Good large well appointed rooms. No restaurant in the evening but good buffet breakfast. Lots of bars/restaurants nearby and 15 minute walk to the old town
My New Favorite Hotel in Düsseldorf

This new hotel is well located to easily get around the city while at the same time is away from the busy areas. With my IHG Platinum Status I was upgraded to a beautiful 6th (top) floor King was a garden balcony. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom shower was sizable. Best of all was the handheld shower head that was large and had plenty of water pressure. The balcony had a nice view of the park below and I had several Zoom calls back to the States from there. The fitness area had new cardio equipment, and when the connecting health center is open guests have access to more weight equipment and sauna. For a small boutique hotel this is exceptional! The breakfast was tasty with made-to-order omelets and a coffee machine with multiple selections. Lots of breads, yogurts, cheese, fruit, sausage etc. I enjoyed having mine in the garden which was incredibly relaxing. The staff of the hotel were friendly and very helpful, and their English skills were excellent. The neighborhood has plenty of good restaurants and cafes . It’s only 4-minutes to walk to the main tram line to the train station, and only 2 stops to the Altstadt. You can also use Google Maps to reach your destinations. After having just stayed at a huge convention hotel in Savannah that was not week-run the Indigo was a welcome relief. You still get great amenities without the crowded lobby and elevators. Highly recommended!
