Stay at the Seaview suite for 2 nights last fall and had a wonderful time. The view from the room is so serene and breakfast included at this hotel was so delicious. I also dined at their restaurant and thought the food was excellent. Looking forward to stay again soon.
Absolutely gorgeous and wonderful service
My husband and I stayed at the Harbor House Inn for a two day getaway. Our first trip in a year. What a beautiful and picturesque location on the bluffs overlooking the pacific. We hiked to the beach, got sun on our porch, went to Mendocino for a few hours. The restaurant is wonderful with some of the best food we have ever eaten very distinct and complex dishes. The service was wonderful especially our primary server Adrienne who was knowledgeable, patient with our questions and very warm. We had a leisurely, unrushed and delicious meal. They were also very accommodating to diet restrictions. Our cottage was beautiful with a full kitchen, sitting room, two baths and a fireplace. Can’t wait to go again.
Top of the line hospitality
We visited in Jan for our mini-babymoon and had a wonderful time unplugging from work and enjoying their locally sourced cuisine. Overnight stay does include breakfast (which is very generous and fresh with eggs, bacon, sourdough toasts, juice, coffee and fruitbutter). Dinner and drinks are add on, reasonably priced per the quality. It is a Michelin starred establishment, afterall. We spent 2 nights at the Edgewood cottage. Outdoor dining was suspended during our stay due to strong wind and rain, but we were given the option of in-room dining, which turned out to be fantastic. Our innkeeper Bryan made us feel very welcomed. We only contacted the office twice during our stay and had no problem getting the help we need right away. The bed and living room are rustic but extremely comfortable. The only complaint I have is small tub, but there was plenty of hot water. We enjoyed watching the waves at our patio / at the hotel's garden. During our 2nd night, the sky was so clear we were marveling over the clearly visible Milky Way. The inn does have a private beach, and no, i wouldnt swim there as the waves were quite treacherous. However, there are some natural bridges and the sunset was incredible. It is a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy nature, all while enjoying luxurious accommodations and great food. We felt rejuvenated after our stay and plan on adding The Harbor House Inn to our list of annual visit.
Beautiful but small room
We stayed at the Harbor House Inn for 2 nights based on the Michelin Guide recommendation. It was in the midst of a pandemic so they accommodated us with the meals in the room and most of the common space of the hotel was shut down. The hotel is very small, with dramatic views and access to a private creek with phenomenal nature. We loved our stay which felt magical and secluded. The food (breakfast and dinner) were exceptional, using ingredients and flavors from the area, and infusing them with Japanese touches and rituals. Everyone we met from the staff was nice and considerate, and we felt very well taken care of, despite the rules. One thing to note is that they have two different kinds of rooms. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main building, which was cosy and charming and reminiscent of an old inn, but not a luxury hotel room, which was surprising to us considering how much they charge for it. The room was very small. The table was too small to eat the meals (we had to use the bed to put down the tray), and the bathroom needed renovation (shower water leaking). If you expect a luxury hotel room, our advice is to book one of their bigger rooms which seem to be recently renovated.
Very expensive, though pretty good food
We had dinner here and it was incredibly expensive (yes, yes, I know you're paying for their Michelin star) and the food *was* mostly quite good, but it wasn't worth the price. Of the 10 courses, I'd say 7 were amazing, 1 was only OK, and 2 (both of the dessert courses) were bad. The paired drinks were about half amazing and half only OK. The view was lovely of the sunset and the ocean and the cove and rocks and the staff were nice enough. The spaced out tables on the back deck was quite nice too.
