Good if you fancy a boutique experience…

In all fairness this would probably be 3.5* but fair to round up on this occasion for the pleasant service I got throughout from the staff both in reservations and reception. The positives are the location, the small cozy feel like a boutique, and the beautiful garden, there is also a nice sized gym. The pool and rooftop are currently closed, they allow you access to rooftop of members only club Soho House next door. On the negative side I struggled a bit with room noise (every time an adjacent room shut its doors made a loud thud), sometimes there were sounds of drilling. But overall if you fancy a change from huge grand Istanbul hotels and want the young boutique vibe this should be enjoyable. (P.S. My note to management would suggest adding female staff to front desk would add a gentle touch as we must have met 10 male front desk staff and no females!).
British Soho House in a Turkish Climate
Reviewed 13 February, 2021
Visited during the CV19 epidemic. A hard time for everybody. First time. Visited the Farm in England for a private event before many years ago. Very special indeed. Most facilities closed here, but service and precautions were all very good. Stayed inside the hotel for three days and lost some local currency. Never leave anything outside the safe in the rooms. Its not like the UK establishments. Unfortunately, most staff have poor English language. If this were not a British institution I would not be complaining. This is Turkey and it is right to maintain the beauty of culture and language. However, one pays for a flawless expereince as a haphazardly confused and ignorant Brit in another country. The people working there are all very nice and doing their best. But staying in a Soho House, one expects an IELTS English language qualification of at least 8, even for gym attendants and bar staff. Maybe they don't get many Brits going there. Or don't have the budget to hire this way in Turkey. I dont know the country in the slightest. This is just a 'fresh eyes' view. This establishment is not promising for the Soho brand anyway. Maybe UK management are focussing on other things. But it is such a shame becasue the maintenance and design of this historic place is so good. Everything client-facing is maintained beautifully interior and exterior. All staff look to be local so this place is supporting local industry which is always a good thing. I wish the place and the kind people there good luck.
High level management please consider this review when looking at your annual reports, total available market, brand quality, franchising stipulations etc... It is worth maintaining your excellent track record.
TOTAL JOKE - NEVER STAY HERE!!!!

After traveling to multiple soho hotels and knowing the brand really well - we were actually really looking forward to our stay with the hotel in Istanbul. I have never left a hotel review in my 10 years of traveling but I’m so disappointed by Soho house i thought it necessary to let anyone thinking about paying this amount of money on a hotel to know its simply not worth it!
The red flag went up from the time we arrived. Firstly, they didn’t accept my visa debit card at check in, and the all the staff were really unhelpful and their attitude was quite poor and arrogant. Most of the time i felt like i was doing them a favor - not the other way around. Further, (with the do not disturb sign on) the housekeeping barged into out room twice in one morning and once the following morning.
After getting our room service order wrong twice in one day (breakfast and dinner) they failed to answer a call for a leak in our bedroom one morning. We called them twice after seeing a puddle of water next to our bed but no one answered the reception phone or turned up to help. After the 3rd call they sent a technician who mentioned he would fix the problem later. We left out room that day at 4pm and asked housekeeping to clean our room and mentioned that the technician could return to continue to fix the problem. We returned to our room at 10.30pm and our access key was not working. We went to reception to ask for assistance and then re-activated our access key without any information. We entered our room to see that 1. It had not been cleaned by house keeping (we didn’t-even have toilet paper) 2. Our entire bedroom on the top mezzine had been stripped of the bedsheets and there was only an empty mattress with no bed made. Where were we meant to sleep? We called reception, and at first they didn’t understand what we were trying to tell them. After multiple lost in translation dicusssions we requested them to see our room - when they arrived they were also shocked but told us they were reception staff only and could do nothing about the situation. Then one of the reception guys offered us another room. He told us to leave all our stuff in our current room and only sleep in i the other room he was offering us. What he didn’t know is we were due to check out the next morning.
Anyway - long story short this place is a disaster - they are hiding behind the soho brand but far from delivering on the customer service
We even asked for compensation for the inconvenience (which is something i have never done) but they dismissed like it was no big deal.
I would never stay here despite all the bells and whistles because they really don’t care about their customers,
Loft rooms are lovely

4th floor loft room with a freestanding bath looking over the city, lovely. Was out most days and evenings so didn’t use facilities and they were closed due to covid anyway.
Plenty of nice restaurants nearby.
Fun and Fabulous

The original building was the American Consulate. It now has restaurants and club facilities. They built a hotel adjacent to that building. It has a very funky atmosphere, beautiful interior design. There was an incredible array of amenities in the bathroom. More than I ever have seen at a hotel. It has lots of modern conveniences. The staff was professional and accommodating. It was in a very walkable neighborhood, close to restaurants and shops and many of the historical places and attractions. If you go during the pandemic, rest assured that they have very good sanitary and safety practices in place. Staff members wore masks, they had sanitizer readily available, they provided masks for guests, provided the means for social distancing in the public areas.
