One of the best hotels in Taksim
Very central location, large and very clean rooms, fine decoration, great homemade breakfast which i can not praise enough, characteristic Istanbul architecture. I experienced nothing negative but a very good week during my stay.I would definitely stay again.
This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed, it has perfect location, very helpful and polite staff, reasonable price, rooms are very clean, the breakfast was fine, all in all everything was at its best. I will definitely go here again.
Highly recommended its a little expensive but it totaly worth it trust me every thing was good and clean and it was just near the istiklal street. So much livable. The staff was very kind (Mustafa). And inspite of our mistake that we did on our first day, they react very gentle.
Good hotel but loud music till early hours of the morning
I stayed there for about a week over the Christmas period. It is of a good standard. The room is modern and has comfortable bedding, good heating, safety deposit box, good shower and hot water. There is a good buffet selection at breakfast. They have a lift. A special mention goes to the day receptionist Bhusra, hotel staff Cezgin, and the kitchen staff who go out of their way to make the customers enjoy their stay The big letdown of this hotel is the bar/club, Yorem Turku Evi, which is located next to it (they share the same wall). I had a room in front on the hotel at the 5th floor which got blasted with loud music until 2 to 3am. I rang the night receptionist a couple of times on the second night it happened. He allegedly rang the police who came. He then claimed that the police could not do anything as the bar/club has a permit to open till 3am. The next day I spoke to Bhusra about the noise. She said she was aware of the noise issue especially with rooms at front of hotel, was sympathetic but could not offer a room at the back of hotel as they were full. She came across as more credible than the night receptionist. Management claims that as the hotel is located in Taxim where there are a lot of restaurants, shops and nightlife, it is bound to be noisy. On the couple of nights where the bar/club stopped playing loud music at about midnight, I did not have any problem sleeping with the other noises around. The issue is the bar/club next door to the hotel. I have stayed in some European hotels located near nightlife but have not has this problem before. They have laws which require these institutions to be soundproofed especially if they have permits to open till early hours in the morning. Hotel management should take ownership of this problem and specify on their website that there is a loud bar/club located next to the hotel. Customers can then accordingly decide whether they want to stay there or not.
