Ruined 1st Wedding Anniversary
Opinión escrita el 8 de Mayo de 2021
We picked this spot to celebrate our 1st anniversary. We selected the room to face the river and have a "private" hot tub. Everyone in the parking lot can see us, and several people walked by to get to their own rooms watched everything we did. That was so awkward, and I don't like being on display. The first night was quiet but then the weekend came. I chose the wrong room since a couple was very loud above us. They were so loud walking and sliding things across the floor until 11 pm which is midnight for us. I called to see what could be done. The lady wanted ME to call them and remind them of quiet hours (I didn't feel comfortable doing that). She said she could move us, but we would no longer get the hot tub. We had paid a pretty penny for that, and I didn't just want to give it up. We stayed but had the opposite of the peaceful, relaxing stay we were hoping for. The pictures of the rooms are misleading since our room was way smaller in real life. It just seemed dated and had very thin walls. We whispered the whole time since we could hear our neighbors talking normally in their rooms. Pick a better room or a better place to stay.
NO CANCELLATION or REFUNDS - Fawn Valley Inn and RockyMtnResorts.com
Opinión escrita el 15 de Febrero de 2021
Was unable to cancel a reservation at Fawn Valley Inn through ROCKYMTNRESORTS. Customer service (800-672-9289) was quite curt on the phone. They said they would try to RE-RENT the room and could refund our money if it was rented or give a credit for future stay if it's not re-rented. (Shown in attached images). I checked the website and they had no vacancies that weekend. Yet we were not refunded. We were given a credit for a future stay good for the next 90 days. This is not a normal reservation protocol or policy from how it was handled, in my opinion. I'm a very well seasoned traveler and never experienced anything like this and I NEVER WILL AGAIN. I don't feel that this website or business is very customer friendly. RESERVE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Cozy and peaceful setting

We have stayed in one of the cozy jacuzzi suites approx. 7x over the past 10 years or so. We typically visit during the off season - we like smaller crowds - of January, taking advantage of Fawn Valley's 3 nights for the price of 2 nights special. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, the units clean and well equipped, comfy beds, and peaceful setting. The in-room jacuzzi tub and gas fireplace is cozy & relaxing after an active day spent outside in the crisp temps of January. The room's deck overlooks the creek and trees. Fawn Valley is an older lodge and not fancy but is warm, clean, and comfortable - perfect for a home base while playing outside in Estes Park. The only negative, which is probably related to the older building, is being able to occasionally faintly hearing voices from neighboring units or steps from units overhead. We had a couple of "Chatty Kathys" who we faintly heard visiting one night around 2 am one night. The Chattys were not being loud or obnoxious but because of the very quiet setting in the wee hours of the morning, we could faintly hear their voices. Ear plugs might be a good thing to bring along, just in case.

Could not have asked for a better visit. With 3 growing teens, we opted for a larger space where everyone got their own bed and we could leave the living area for lounging. Great porch with fantastic view of snow. Common areas are connected with plenty of room for cooking, dining and movie watching in front of the fire.
Great location, needs some updates

I wanted to give this a higher rating, but there was a few things that made it a 3. The positives are location, location, location...it’s the first inn when exiting the park. So, a two min drive to the entrance, which was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was cute, was a nice space. The bathroom was a good size, has toiletries. The balcony facing the river was lovely with the grill.
The negatives are there was an odor, not strong but maybe a stale smell. The shower floor in our room was so cracked I had to wear my water shoes. It can be a bit noisy if there are people up late on the balconies. The futon is definitely not suited for anyone over five feet, luckily kids were just the right height. I think they need a few updates.
