Nice property, but that's about it. The slots are AWFUL, I mean you'll destroy $500 in an hour on $1.50 spins and never hit a bonus. I actually counted over 1500 spins on the same machine with not a single bonus round! You do tend to meet people discussing the pains on the machines, which doesn't make for much fun but it at least build some friendships. Don't waste your time or money, this place only wants the high rollers and cares nothing about the locals coming to play with a few hundred bucks. Stick to Foxwoods, 2 hour drive is well worth the aggravation. Also, the food options are just bad, nowhere to get a quick cup of coffee now that Bru is gone (except Dunkin which won't accept comps). The weekly promos used to be good but now they have been seriously cut back.
Garage is dangerous, the entering traffic is often encountered by poor signage allowing cars to be facing the ramp dead on.
The lack of a pool is also a disappointment as others noted.
Encore - Vegas style hotel in urban setting

Stayed overnight here Sunday – Monday. Check in was a breeze. Arrived on property at 1:15pm, valet the car (free if staying at the property), and by 1:30pm we were headed up to the room. Check in clerk was very pleasant and helpful. Only lack of information (as first-time hotel guests) was that you have to hold your card against the security box in the elevator in order to choose a floor. This is not necessary of going to 1st 2nd or 3rd floors all common areas. Needed to get to rooms. Had room 2426 which faced the waterway with nice views. (Could have only been better if there wasn’t a stupid wind turbine in view.) By far one of, if not, the nicest room I have ever stayed in. everything was electronically controlled by an Ipad. Lights, TV, drapes, shades, room service etc. Walk in turn on the lights with an “all-on” button right near the door and the drapes automatically open. Turn them off at night and the drapes automatically close. You can also control the brightness/dimness of the lights using the Ipad or on the light fixture itself. There was a couch automon in the spacious room at the end of the bed. Bed faces the fantastic view. 65inch HDTV can be titled to face the couch for viewing or swiveled out from wall and face the bed. Room has a snacks bar(fee) and refrigerator with beverages(fee). As well as a desk. Bathroom is just as impressive. Plenty of lighting, best I have ever experienced. Big soaking Tub. Separate shower with great water pressure. TV in bathroom you can view if soaking. A makeup desk with a lighted mirror for the ladies. Hair dryer. What looks like a jewelery box on the double sink vanity is actually loaded with toiletries. Toothbrush, toothepast, qtips, shoe polish, collar stays, cotton balls, mouthwash, body lotion, makeup remover, shower cap, mouthwash, sewing kit. Very thorough. 2 nice robes and slippers. The toilet is in a separate water closet. Closet has iron/ironing board, safe, rack for luggage, extra blankets, hangers. 2 huge mirrors one in the hallway and one in the bathroom. Really clean, really nice. Soft bed with HUGE pillows. Good soundproofing as didn’t hear any noise from nearby rooms.
Can’t say enough about the rooms.
The presentation of property itself is very Las Vegas, too bad it is in an incredible residential urban neighborhood of Everett. Would have been so much more effective in the seaport area of Boston. Once inside you would not know you were not in a Vegas hotel (if you have been). Casino is very spacious. Tons of slot machines. A good amount of table games. Only 5 craps tables that I saw but a lot of the other games. The have staff going around offering free drinks if playing the machines/tables. Everything looks fantastic and high end. They even have a full service Dunkin Donuts right on the casino floor. The second floor of the casino has restaurants, nightclub, and some high roller areas. It does not really have many bars within the casino. Only saw one bar with video poker machines and it had no seats. You could stand and play. However, playing those machines does NOT get you free drinks!?! They have a couple of kiosks serving snacks (one Mexican themed Encore Cantina, the other Italian/pizza themed Lucky pizza). They serve beers/malt beverages that you can walk around the casino with. The actual full service bar(other than aforementioned video poker bar) in the casino exist in the restaurant On Deck burger bar on 2nd floor which opened at 12pm. You can get a drink from their and walk around casino. Other major bars Night shift Brewing and Harbour lights are outside the casino do not open until 4pm and closes at 11pm except fri&sat (2am). Not sure if you are allowed to bring drinks from those bars outside the bar and into the casino. The bar aspect in a casino is unlike Vegas style where they are much more prevalent.
Did have a couple of drinks in the Night Shift Brewing bar which is a micro-brew bar with lots of flavors of their beers on tap. Also has full bar and bunch of HDTV’s for sports viewing. Service was very good, friendly on this slow Sunday night.
Spa was open but both the gym and pool were not which was disappointing. Hotel concierge indicated they didn’t think the pool would ever reopen. Did not offer an opinion on the status of the gym.

Had a great time. Room wasn’t ready but they upgraded us to a signature suite and it was a beautiful room. Took the shuttle boat to Quincy Market for some shopping. Easy and convenient. Parking garage was a little confusing but we figured it out . Only way to get back in it after you park is through hotel. Had no clue. Restaurants very expensive but we only went 1 night so it’s allgood
American Express Platinum benefits

My husband and I stayed here for one night to celebrate our birthdays. We have the American Express Platinum card and used points in order to book a room. We booked the most basic room. Because we used the card (and booked through the AmEx travel website), we were given a room upgrade which is granted when available by using the card. They upgraded us to a 1300 sq ft suite. It was huge! Some other perks of using the card are a $100 credit which can be used at restaurants throughout the resort, so we used ours at Mystique and it pretty much covered our dinner. You also get $40 credit per person for breakfast. We ordered room service and $80 was more than we needed even though the breakfast is ridiculously expensive. You are also given an early check in (noon) - you have to call the day ahead to let them know if you are coming early and see if your room will be ready. Lastly, you get a 4:00 check out so you have the room most of the day and don’t have to rush out.
It is a beautiful hotel, and we loved that even the casino area is nonsmoking. The grounds are really pretty and the Harborwalk connects to another path so you can do an extended walk. We had a great charcuterie board at Wine Meet Cheese. Our dinner at Mystique was nice (request a window seat), and we had very good drinks at the piano bar Harbor Lounge. Even thought it is a new hotel, I would say our room looked dated- done in folds and tans. But it was very clean and spacious. There was a jacuzzi tub. No refrigerator which was odd- but you could pay to have them bring one up if necessary. One issue we had was finding any casual spots for lunch or a snack. There was a coffee/sandwich place but seemed permanently closed. We had a great time and it was a nice getaway. However if we had to pay the cost of the room, dinner and breakfast without all the AmEx perks it would have been way overpriced. If you have this card- it’s the way to go especially if you can use points.
