Best value for price
Located 70 m from one of the most beautiful beaches of Skyros the hotel impressed me for the cleanliness, service, courtesy of the staff, clean and functional spaces, discreet and careful music and tremendous calm. Breakfast, made of high quality traditional materials is only one of the highlights. I strongly recommend it.
Just wonderful - and as safe as they come for COVID-19
A gorgeous family run little hotel a stone's throw from the beach. It is our third year here, and we really enjoy it every time. I have been meaning to write a review all along but what made me sit down and do it is the following, which you may find important: Amalia and Antonis, the owners, do take this COVID business seriously: Staff do wear masks. Breakfast is served by begloved personnel, and guests have to wear a mask when going to the buffet. And once we have finished our breakfast, they will come along and clean the table with antiseptic solution. Without becoming obtrusive, they really make us feel safe. Skyros is a relatively quiet island, and the village where the hotel is located is not crowded in the least. I think that for this year (2020) it is arguably one's best anti-COVID choice. To other things: The hotel is really well maintained and has been designed with gusto - there are rooms for every taste, larger, smaller, with kitchenette and without. It is clear the couple love what they do; one can tell by their attention to detail: Cane decoration under the balcony wooden roof, coat hanger as you enter the room, washing lines for swimming trunks to dry out on, mosquito repellent in the desk drawer, felt pads on chair legs so they don't squeak when drawn and annoy your neighbours... Just nice! For fear of boring the reader, I shall not repeat the very positive comments regarding staff and guests; please read the glowing reviews provided by others, especially the one by Hungry Emu (hee, hee!). Parking nearby can be an issue but there is a parking area 50m from the hotel. If reasonably fit you can easily get by without a car anyway: there is an excellent taverna nearby (Stefanos) as well as a fully stocked supermarket, and the sandy beach by the hotel is superb. If you walk along the bay and cross the brook, you get to the restaurants and cafes on Molos (including Anemolyti). Should you wish to venture into Skyros town, you go up the paved pedestrian path which leads to the archaeological museum; it is a 10 minute walk up the hill. Do bring a torch along (or a mobile 'phone with a light) because although on a moonlit night coming down the path on the way back is a doddle, on a dark night extra light is necessary. The starlit sky is ample reward, mind... Complaints? Erm... None whatsoever...
A very nice hotel
The hotel is right near the baech. The roms were large with a balcony and well equipped, including a small kitchen and small fridge. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a large variety of foods. The tables around were in the balcony which was very nice and shadowed. We arrived by plane, there is only one flight a day and it arrives at 7:30 in the morning. We easily arrived to the hotel with the public bus from the airport, the bus stops very near the hotel. We were given our room upon arrival and were offered the breakfast (instead of the last day that we left even earlier to catch tghe plane) The rooms were clean and quiet. I would like to caution that there are many stairs in the hotel, to the rooms, the breakfast, the baconies, etc, By the way this is true for Skyros
Always a pleasure to be here
We have visited Skyros and Perigiali the second time with our kids now. We love the relaxing and friendly stay in this hotel. The owners and the staff are so nice here. Everything is clean and you can feel like home, but you do not have to work (like at home). We also like the restaurants near the hotel and the town is very close to the accomodation. For sure we will come back!
A pleasant stay in a family-own hotel
The hotel is situated about 50m from the beach of Magazia, a nice large sandy beach with beach bars, tavernas and quiet places. It is a traditional family-owned hotel, with the personal care of the owners, which means a well-maintained hotel. The rooms we had, were spacious and with large verandas looking to the sea (above the other buildings), well cleaned all days. The breakfast was a traditional greek breakfast, well standard goods. In order to visit the island and the rest beautiful beaches, you need a car.
