Wow....What an experience. We just returned from the One and Only. Absolutely world class. From the splendour of the resort, to the cleanliness of the rooms, the quality of the food, the amenities, and the absolutely superlative level of service. We came for my wife's 50th, and it was truly wonderful. We had an entire team at our disposal to take care of every need. They knew exactly what we needed, where we were eating each night, etc.The restaurants were excellent. Great live music at night. Great sports activities for the kids in the day. For the birthday dinner, we had it on the beach, and the food and service were truly, truly amazing. I even had some business needs taken care of efficiently. Have to thank Ishwar, Nasser, Keshnee and Mustafa. All first-class people and they know how to give service. Highly recommended, and will come here again for sure.

Service was excellent nothing was too much trouble. We had a room over looking the lagoon which was larger than we had anticipated. The bathroom was lovely and the view from the room.was beautiful. We preferred the lagoon side of the resort as it was quieter than the beach side. I felt that the resort would benefit from having a pool away from the restaurant and bar areas. Amenities at the resort were varied and the gym,the tennis courts and the complimentary water sports at the boat house were all excellent. Changing facilities at the gym and tennis courts were also excellent. It would have been helpful to have more information in the room about spa treatments.
I expected more

Definitely a good resort but with many shortcomings First of all, too many small children and without a dedicated area which is impossible for those who want to relax. The much-publicised restaurants, especially the starred Sophie Pic restaurant, are absolutely mediocre with crazy prices. At this level of luxury everything has to be perfect. Here unfortunately not
One and Only Perfection!

My husband had wanted to visit the St Geran since we stayed at the One and Only in Dubai 8 years ago, and saw the Advert on the in room TV! We finally made it and combined our 5 night stay with time in a hotel on Le Morne beach. From arrival to departure the staff make you feel like royalty and the service is superb. We were welcomed by our “host” who showed us around the hotel and set up a WhatsApp group whereby they could keep in touch and help us with anything we needed, such as booking restaurants, arranging activities, etc. This worked very well during our stay. We booked a lagoon view room which was lovely and we felt was actually better than the beach facing rooms, being quieter and catching the sun in the afternoons. The beds were extremely comfortable, the bathroom huge, and I particularly loved the large dressing room! Little treats were left each evening following the “turn down” service, which was a lovely touch. We paid the supplement for half board which we found helpful as prices here are not cheap. We ate in all the restaurants and particularly enjoyed Tapasake. We haven’t tried Japanese food before and were not really sure what to expect but we loved it. The staff were very helpful guiding us what to have, including how to eat some of it! The half board allowance was generous, being 4800 MUR per person, circa £90, which we thought was very good as we had just been at another hotel in the South West where allowance in one of the restaurants was only 800 MUR. This restaurant seemed particularly popular and early booking is therefore recommended. La Terrasse restaurant was buffet style with plenty of choice, and had themed nights, including a seafood night which was excellent. Breakfast was served in La Terrasse and again the choice and quality of food was excellent. On our final night we had booked a table at La Dame De Pics restaurant which we were really looking forward to. We have eaten at some amazing Michelin Starred restaurants and had high expectations. We chose to have the tasting menu, and whilst the food was very nice, it didn’t provide the “wow” we were anticipating. The beach is lovely with beautiful white sand and plenty of sun beds and shades. The beach staff were excellent, laying out towels, providing iced water, cleaning sunglasses and taking food and drink orders. Unfortunately the sea is quite cloudy off the beach so snorkelling is limited. However the Boat House staff run a snorkel trip twice daily, whereby they take you 15/20 minutes along the coast to an off shore area where you can snorkel over a beautiful coral reef with masses of fish. This is well worth doing if you are able. My husband also enjoyed the sailing - the lagoon area is perfect for water sports being a bit more sheltered than the area off the beach. There are two pools although the one around La Terrasse didn’t seem to be used by anyone whilst we were there, other than a few ducks! The design is very unusual being set around a restaurant, bar and dance floor, and hence I’m not sure how practical this is. The pool at La Point was lovely although not huge, and could get busy with young families and children. We enjoyed the La Terrasse bar in the evening which provided a lovely setting for socialising, and the hotel live band were excellent. We hadn’t expected live music so this was a real treat and we enjoyed the chance to have a dance, even if you have to be careful not to fall into the pool! This hotel is not cheap but the standard of accommodation and service are exceptional. Well worth a visit if you’re able.
