nice hotel...felt like we were getting bite up in the middle of the night tho. No english channels at ALL.. the young gentlemen who was working was not the least bit interested in helping me to find english channels nor helping me understand why they didn't have netflix or youtube as every other marriott property i have stayed at in italy has had either or both.

Nice hotel, within walking distance of the historic center. There are many parking spaces around it, which is a great advantage for Florence. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and large bathrooms. We also had breakfast which was an assisted buffet and was generally quite basic. I had taken several rooms, one was an apartment with a terrace and a great view of the Cathedral of Florence and the center (in the distance).
Quiet, clean, and organized property in a quiet corner of Florence

This is an aesthetically impressive property in a quieter corner of Florence. Everything central is a 15-20 minute walk away (the main train station, Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, the Uffizi gallery, most restaurants and cafes), so if you are someone who likes to be in the middle of the action, or who doesn't like extensive walking, this may not be the place for you. Because of my Marriott status I got a room upgrade, so had a larger room than I'd expected given my knowledge of European hotel room sizes. The high ceilings were nice, the bathroom in particular with its all-glass sink was actually quite beautiful; the AC was a little lighter duty than I'm accustomed to as an American (only went down to 20 degrees Celcius, and the highest ventilation strength setting would have only been about mid-range back home) but as long as I left it on while I was away for the day then the room was adequately cool enough to counteract the intense summer heat of Florence on my return. The TV's English language channels were a pleasant surprise, and though there were only a few (news, sports, I think one movie channel) it was enough to be able to zone out for a bit while I was getting ready to leave in the morning and getting ready for bed at night. The hotel staff were courteous and efficient, and every time I requested a taxi to be called (just for a dinner at the other end of town one night, and then for my return trip to the train station with all my luggage) it was there within a couple of minutes. It is also close to several public transportation stops (several buses and the tram lines) so it is easy to get from there to further away tourist sites like Piazzale Michelangelo and the Accademia. I did not eat at the hotel restaurant as I was fully booked morning to night every day, but the menu seemed decent and on a less busy visit I would definitely have gone there at least once. On my next visit to Florence I might try a different hotel closer to the action, especially at the height of summer, but for the price I paid especially (100 Euros/night after taxes and fees) this hotel definitely exceeded what I had expected when booking it.
Great Start, Terrible Ending

At first glance, the AC Marriott was a beautiful place, the staff during check-in was very helpful and the rooms were very clean. However, when my sisters and I left the hotel to go out at night, when we came back all of our cards were deactivated. We didn't think much of it, until the next morning, when we realized that I was missing $500. I went to the staff to ask to check if there were any cameras or to check the lock key box and they kept saying I would have to wait until Monday for the technician. We were visiting from the states, and we couldn't wait until Monday because we had our flights out of the country by then. The staff was not helpful to me during this time and I have NEVER had an issue like this at a Marriott or AC hotel. I was extremely disappointed and spent my morning at the police station trying to get help to make a claim. I've reached out to Marriott corporate and customer service as well and still no resolve. The manager of this specific hotel responded to my email with a very condescending tone, which I did not appreciate. I like to give props where they are due, but I was extremely disappointed in what happened to me at this hotel.

My niece and I stayed at this hotel on our adventure across Italy. They had parking for the rental car and was within walking distance from the main square and Duomo. We purchased the breakfast since my niece has some dietary restrictions and they had some great options for her.
The hotel is very inviting and service was wonderful. I would stay here again if I found myself in the area. The was great and it was very clean and well maintained.
