A very pleasant stay

We enjoyed our stay here after being moved from another hotel due to maintenance issues. The room was very nice and there was a good sized room safe large enough for small laptops. Our stay included a small buffet breakfast which was served by staff due to Covid-19. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. It was in a good location at the Liberty Square/Piazza della Libertà and surrounded by restaurants with a supermarket just 300 metres away. That being said, there are a couple of things that need attention. 1. Shower attachment for the sprayer is loose and kept falling apart. 2. Non-working plug in the bath. 3. Paint peeling in bathroom ceiling.4. Hallway carpets really need a clean and were dirty. 5. We were first in for breakfast one morning only to find the scrambled eggs stone cold! These are minor things, and one needs to be sympathetic for these businesses due to the last 14 months or so. Cash strapped and staying alive during these times would have been difficult, so maintenance may have been restrictive. Some other businesses took the opportunity to do all their maintenance and cleaning items. I don't know the situation here so do not want to judge harshly. But the shining light here are the staff who are exceptional. They are very friendly and keen to help (except for a couple of grumpy breakfast staff for some reason--middle-aged lady with dark hair). A special nod to Stefania who was a delight, always smiling and tried to help us with our fridge problem. She was exceptional amongst a great team at reception.

I booked this hotel as a package with a flight, something a very rarely do. To be honest it was cheap and looked nice. In fact when we arrived we were very surprised at the standard, the photos defo don’t do this place justice. The room was spacey, modern and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
The hotel was located a 15minute walk from the centre where Duomo is found, and slightly closer to the Statue of David museum.
Breakfast was great, lots of choice - cold, hot, meats, bakery. Shame that there has to be Covid precautions meaning you can’t help yourself, but nonetheless it was great.
There is a lovely little outside terrace on the forecourt area, perfect for evening drinks - didn’t try the food but that was also an option. Hotel was very much value for money.
Be aware of departure tax, we had to pay approx €30 For 2people for 4nights which we were not prepared for and didn’t have to pay in any of our other 2 hotels, so I’m not sure how that’s worked out.
Beautiful and Comfortable

Visited with my dad for a weekend break in Tuscany and chose the Hotel San Gallo, which was an excellent choice. The hotel room was so cosy and comfortable and had all the amenities we could wish for. Breakfast was also delicious with lots of options. I only had the continental options but there were lots of cooked options on the menu too. The hotel is around a 20 minute walk from Santa Maria Novella train station which was convenient for us exploring Siena and Montepulciano. The staff were very helpful and assisted in directing us to where we needed to be. The bistro next door was also excellent, we ate and drank there every night. Overall, a really enjoyable experience and would love to return again one day.

We have stayed at the hotel for two days and should note that we have never regretted our choice. The hotel is located within walking distance from the center. We highly appreciated a very polite staff, which provided us with all the necessary instructions for exploring the city. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was very good. We will definitely plan our next stay in Florence at San Gallo Palace hotel.

This hotel was a big disappointment, rooms were dirty and housekeepers do not do a good job at cleaning the rooms, long hair found on floor, sink in the bath tub. No AC because of some stupid law that forbids the hotel to use AC doing certain time of the day. No Concierge to help with planning daily tours of the city, The Only good person we met was the Bartender Denis Giuliani who did an amazing job taking care of us.
