The best thing I can say about our experience is the Lodge is close to Main Street.
We were in room 7 “The Honeymoon Suite”. After getting to the room it began to rain and we watched water pour in through the air conditioner and from under the windows. Called the front desk and they brought towels to replace the ones we put down and told us they would notify maintenance. We received a call later stating that maintenance was not available but hopefully it wouldn’t rain again. (See attached pictures)
The overall cleanliness of the room was not what I would expect for the price spent. While cleaning up the water coming in I scooped up a clump of hair. The mirror in the living area was splattered with something; the television screen had something running down it, as well there was something yellow running down the wall in the toilet area and the dust on the tables had been there quite a while. The make-up removal towel they provided was dirty already. (See attached pictures)
The bathroom was not a wonderful experience. In order to get a shower you had to try and get up on a platform over 2 1/2 feet tall that held the FILTHY Jacuzzi tub and try to contain the water from going out with a shower curtain that was too short. The platform around the tub was cracked and sinking in. It was difficult for myself and my husband to maneuver. The day we checked out we decided to wait and shower at home rather than put ourselves through that experience again. (See attached pictures)
Breakfast was certainly not “Chef Inspired”. The cold egg and some type of meat in a flour tortilla and the 6 grapes and 2 mandarin orange slices were quite disappointing. Breakfast on day 2 was not much better, two small pancakes, burnt sausage patty and the 4 mandarin orange slices with 3 blueberries. (See attached pictures) We decided to eat elsewhere.
The front desk was notified of the issues and the response given was oh, okay.
Great Hospitality and Location

When we first arrived, I had mistakenly reserved a 2 story unit. Due to problems with arthritis, I could not climb the stairs very well. The next morning when we requested a single story unit, Stephanie handled it so professionally and within an hour, we had the perfect room. When we heard there would be breakfast in a basket we were not thrilled---until it arrived. Wonderful, hot, delicious breakfast every morning!! The spacious patio next to the pool had a great fireplace to gather around and meet other guests and enjoy our basket breakfast!. Being only a block off main street, it was easy to walk to Nimitz museum and shopping!! Recommend the Lodge highly!! This was our second stay and we will come again!
Worth coming back

We recently enjoyed two nights at this location. The location is excellent & the room was clean and comfortable. It would’ve been a five star stay had there not been some maintenance construction underway near our room. The way they serve breakfast was certainly unique and I should mention the quality of food was well above average. You just have to be ready to eat it when they deliver it. We look forward to returning and hopefully delivering another review with five stars.
Pros Outweigh the Cons
Opinión escrita el 23 de Marzo de 2021
We stayed here for 3 nights during our Spring Break (stayed in Suite 16). Overall, we had a good experience and the pros definitely outweighed the cons.
- Location is great, just a short walk to almost everything.
- Nice pool area and fireplace (although we didn't use either).
- Hot breakfast delivered in a basket every morning.
- Cool room. We loved having an upstairs and downstairs area.
- Comfortable bed.
- Staff was very nice and accommodating to our requests.
-Climbing in and out of the jacuzzi tub was problematic. It's a very high tub and I can see someone easily slipping and falling trying to get in and out.
- The jacuzzi didn't work in our suite. This was not a big deal to us, but for those looking to use it, I wouldn't recommend Suite 16.
- Tin roof + Storms = Sleepless night. It sounded like bombs were dropping around us during the one night that there were storms. Obviously this is not the Inn's fault, but something to keep in mind.
- The floors in the room were dirty. My kids walked around barefoot and had very black feet, which had to be washed before bed. We requested that the floors be cleaned the next day. They weren't quite as dirty the next day, but still not clean.
- We woke up to no hot water one morning, but they quickly fixed the problem.
We Loved It!

We loved our stay at The Lodge Above Town Creek. It was perfect for our family of four - 2 adults, 2 children. We booked one of the rooms with the upstairs bedroom and downstairs living area & bathroom which worked perfectly for us. We loved opening our door each morning to a lovely and enjoyable breakfast, brought to us in an adorable picnic basket with everything we needed for our meal. The location is great, walking distance to Mainstreet/Downtown. The property is really nice - we especially enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and our children had fun in the pool (although it was chilly when we visited in March). Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. We highly recommend this hotel!
