Nice, quiet and clean
This review comes in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, so all facility options may not have been available and occupancy certainly lower than normal. Regardless, this is a nice clean and quiet hotel. The gentleman at the desk was very nice...quick and easy in and out. Breakfast was available starting at 5am, which is nice for getting an early start. Typical offerings of waffle, eggs, sausages/bacon, biscuits/gravy, toast and other standard pre-packaged items provided good variety. Nice to have a couple of beers on the house with my takeout dinner. Room was smallish but clean and comfortable. No complaints all around.
Nice clean well maintained
Nice clean place and good facilities. The room is spacious . The laundry has only one washer and one dryer though . Wifi a bit weak and drop off easily . Other than that great place as it is located quite near to river park shopping complex and Denny’s is just beside walking distance.
Very nice place
Enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were a nice size, clean and they had a hot breakfast available which included eggs and bacon. Actually walked around the corner to Costco, which was certainly a new experience (Who walks to Costco?) 😀 Would certainly stay there again.
A Mixed Bag
Stayed here for three nights and on short notice. The check-in was friendly, quick and efficient. We'd forgotten to bring our rewards card, but the check-in clerk located our account and credited our stay which was a plus. The room was large and clean. We were on the side of the hotel facing Herndon Ave, which could be a bit noisy, but we didn't notice any problems with traffic noise during the night. Just as a hint, the hotel is located on a parallel road to Herndon and access is gained by turning onto Blackstone Ave from Herndon and going down about 150 feet before turning right onto the access road. There's a Denny's Restaurant on the corner of Herndon and Blackstone, so that's easy to find and the turn-in is just beyond there. The hotel itself is clean, but it's starting to show a little wear around the edges. Nothing major, just little things. The breakfast buffet is very well done and more than adequate. Our first breakfast was just after a large group of high school or college students had gone through and apparently devoured everything in sight. The hotel still managed to have food available, however, and a fresh round of replacements quickly appeared -- That was no easy task, I'm sure. On the down side, as we were having breakfast one morning, we were watching the local news on the dining area TV when a desk clerk/ employee came in with the remote and without so much as a word changed the channel to a soccer game (a sport we do not follow) broadcast in Spanish (a language we do not speak). That was both rude and unappreciated. The hairdryer in our room didn't work, but we reported it to the front desk and it was exchanged/ repaired. We requested a wake-up call for our last morning, it was noted at the desk and then never made. Thankfully, we'd also set the alarm on the clock in the room as a back-up. Apparently, the desk crew could use a bit of training. All in all, the service and facilities were mostly adequate, but the negatives definitely made the stay less than memorable, so it was a mixed bag.
Hotels like this are what the others strive for.
While it's not easy to get to it's so very worthwhile! From the moment we walked in I knew I'd picked the right place. Gabriel was wonderful and very helpful. From recommending local events and attractions to making sure that we could find them we felt like friends and family. The room was spacious and clean with the hallways and breakfast area clean and maintained. I highly recommend this hotel for any stay in the Fresno area.
