I'm one to never leave reviews on hotels but I had to share my awful experience at the Wingate in Frisco TX. We walked into our first room and stayed in there all of 30 seconds because it smelled like body odor, the carpet was filthy, and the paint in the bathroom was chipped badly. They accommodated us and placed on a different floor in a different room and this room had a burger king french fry cup under the bed and hot tamale candies in between the nightstand and beds (its clear that these rooms aren't being cleaned well). The receptionist at the front desk was very sweet about the situation and apologized. Later that night we noticed stains on the washcloths and stains on the furniture in the room. Just an unkempt, raggedy hotel. I would not recommend staying here, I was very uncomfortable for 3 long nights!
Worst hotel experience ever!
I’m a frequent travel. This was a personal stay as my air conditioner had broke and I needed a place to sleep for the night. I booked the room through an app. I checked in around 11pm. When I arrived, the system was down. The night clerk had to physically go check to see if no one was in a room. I finally got into the room. There were stains everywhere, from carpet to curtains to the bed sheets. The bed sunk in the middle but at least I had air conditioning. At 5:50 am I got a call which I didn’t answer thinking it was an alarm I didn’t request. 5 minutes later a knock. It was the front desk guy and I didn’t answer as I was alone as a single woman in a hotel. Then another call. Answering I was told they couldn’t find my reservation and I had to pay again. I refused, got dressed and went downstairs to talk to the manager. She called the app company and found the reservation. Why the night clerk didn’t do this is beyond me. Why they both felt the need to wake a guest at 5:50am, BEFORE checking all records is beyond frustrating. Horrible experience, horrible customer service. I do not recommend staying here.
Top rate property
Had to stay overnight in the area as my sister had surgery on a near by hospital and I live about 150 miles away. This is a fantastic facility and I can say enought as to how comfortable I felt under some personal trying cercustances. I am 68 years old and was very impress as to the cleanliness of the common area and how safe I felt during my stay. Thank you to all the hospitality staff that make us feel at home away from home
Not a bad stay
It was an OK room. Not what I would have expected for a Wyndham property. Breakfast and room was great but staff wasn't too enthused to want to be there. Check in went well but not much after that. They need better accommodations such as trash cans around the building. Other then that, it wasn't bad. Still 4 stars. Pool and hot tub was great as well even though pool isn't heated.
Wingate - Frisco TX
We had to move to another room after we already had unpacked because of a badly sagging mattress. Luckily the move was across the hall. Breakfast is what you expect for being included, but better than many other hotels in this class/price range. We stayed two weeks and our room didn’t get cleaned two days during our stay.
