House 580 great for bachelorette weekend
Opinión escrita el 2 de Agosto de 2021
Stayed in a 5 bedroom house (unit 580) Fri-Sun for a bachelorette weekend. I was the primary planner and very nervous about the condition of the home based off some other recent reviews. Thankfully the home was clean, spacious and super functional for our party of 8. We really appreciated the number of bathrooms so we all could get ready simultaneousl. Also liked the long dining table for eating, conversing and playing games. We wish we had more time - didn't get to take advantage of the hot tub, pool table downstairs, living room sitting area or the free kayaks and paddleboards. The biggest suggestions we'd have are to add better room darkening curtains, particularly on the main level, and to include pump soap instead of bars of soap in this COVID era.
On our first night we called in an order for pizzas and salads from The Highlands restaurant and were very pleased with the food. On Sunday morning, we checked out, then headed to the Country Store to use our $75 coupon to get coffee and snacks. The cashier seemed annoyed and told us reluctantly that we could use the coupon, but warned it might take a while to ring up. The ordering in the coffee area took pretty long with all our drinks and then when we tried to apply the coupon it wasn't working. Calls were made and the main desk had to check us back in temporarily for the discount to work. Using the coupon felt like a whole ordeal that should have been easier and something the resort might want to invest some time into simplifying.
Also, prior to the weekend, I called the resort a few times to clarify some things and I feel like the customer service wasn't the best. The people on the other line seemed somewhat annoyed by my questions and were generally unenthusiastic and unfriendly.
While the home worked out as a great place for us to spend some time hanging out and to sleep, it was a bit of a pain to drive through all the long, windy and hilly roads of the resort to get to the main road. The resort feels pretty isolated from downtown, but it wasn't all that far away. All the homes feel very removed from each other and from the main buildings of the resort too, so you just feel a bit isolated in the middle of this sprawling property. If you're looking for a spacious space to stay with as many people as we did through, I'd recommend house 580.

With the name "Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa" and the cost of a room here, my expectations were high. However, all weekend I felt like I should have booked something different. Check-in was painfully slow. Our room smelled musty/mildewy, and nothing ever seemed to dry out - including the carpet! We were on the bottom level and there was standing water outside our door. The internet was spotty, along with cell service. The TV even went out for a bit. There were some updates to the room, like the sink/vanity and shower, but other items were clearly neglected. Service wasn't great as I had to call multiple times to get fresh towels, since there isn't a daily cleaning due to COVID. We ended up spending very little time in our room and at the resort in general because it just wasn't enjoyable. It's pretty far out from the shopping and activities in Galena as well. Unless you're planning on doing a lot of golfing, I would recommend finding somewhere else to stay!

Galena Territory is beautiful. Eagle Ridge is in a prime location. That is about as good as it gets. The condo's are quite dated, ours was very sparcly furnished. The spa is nice, however 3 out of the 4 in our group had facials by a girl in training. The facial was pretty lame. The massage was great. The most upseting aspect of the package was the $40.00 meal ticket each of us received. We ate dinner at the The Highlands Restaurant. Rude hostess and worse food. At the end of the meal the waiter said "they don't have very good food here"....The food had to be prepared early in the day and left in a warming oven...3 out of 4 of us had terrible meals, the other person lucked out because she ordered the fried perch & french fries. This meal had to be prepared on the spot. For the money spent it was definetly a waste.

Nice golf resort in rural IL. Golf is 5*. Played the North course which was tree lined, tight with fast greens. Fairways and greens are in good shape.
Resort is nice as well. Rooms are average. Restaurant service good but they are in need of more help to open up entirety of property. Lake views are wonderful.
Home #606 @ Eagle Ridge Resort

We love Eagle Ridge and rent a house there every year. Our most recent stay was over Memorial Day 2021 and we rented house #606. The house was not what we were expecting which is usual high standards for this resort. The house was dated and although seemed clean really wasn’t. The upstairs toilet leaked constantly, the furniture was old and uncomfortable, kitchen had very few cooking utensils, light switches were dirty, dining room had a broken window, main floor bathroom smelled of mold and overall the house (at$1100/night) was not acceptable. There was a for sale sign in yard So maybe owners don’t want to put any money into it. Avoid this rental
