Comfortable stay but we had a few issues
We used to stay at Holiday Inn Garforth regularly from 2012 until the hotel implemented a no pets policy so we had to find alternative accommodation in the area. Recently we noticed that the hotel had started to take pets again so we booked a room on the IHG website. There was a good welcome at the hotel where I was recognised as a IHG Spire Ambassador member. We were impressed with the refurbishment of the hotel that had taken place since our last visit. In the past we stayed in a mixture of standard and executive rooms. The most recent stay was in an executive room but unfortunately it was standard room with a few extras and not at the same level which we used to enjoy in the past when executive rooms were more luxuriously appointed. On check out we had a shock because we had booked a pet friendly rate which was quite a high price even though an executive room was included in the rate. We were told that we had to pay an additional £25 on top of the already high price, paying separately for an exec room and pet charge would have been considerably cheaper. The pet charge was waived by the manager which we appreciated and it was mentioned that the website price was misleading. I am giving 4 stars for the nice welcome we received as well as the comfortable surroundings. Really disappointed however with the Executive Room offering which is a huge downgrade from what the hotel previously offered. We do like Holiday Inn Garforth as it is a great hotel in a lovely setting close to Garforth town centre.
We stayed for one night and 4 rooms... the reception staff were excellent. The rooms were clean and tidy... the shower was a proper power shower with constant pressure... we would definitely stay here again as it is conveniently located just off the M1 and is a short taxi ride into Leeds central
Great friendly staff and good food
Stayed 1 night, room a little on the small size but comfortable. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Minor issue with no hand towels in the room which was quickly sorted out. Had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent and again friendly and helpful staff. The facilites looked excellent but didn't have time to use them. Due to be in the area for a week in April and will make this hotel first choice.
Large and comfortable hotel which I will stay at again
Large hotel with plenty of secure parking, efficient reception large lounge and bar area with an array of seating options serving a selection of good food and drinks. Rooms are a little dated and tired but perfectly adequate with everything you require. Compact bathroom with decent shower over bath (no handrails and quite high sided bath so take care). Friendly and helpful staff. There is also a gym and small pool available for residents and members I think. I will definitely stay here again.
Not what it used to be
Not a Holiday inn in my opinion ??? a massive que for check in with only one girl on duty!! It took approx. 15 minutes - after a hard day , this is not acceptable - even if the girl had apologies or why not call on more staff ?? Main light not working in room - reading light flickering on and off : Bar area has gone down in my opinion - it looks more like a café now and even has a pool table ?? not Holiday Inn Standards : Very Poor selection on red wine by the glass, with only one choice as they had ran out ?? what ? Sorry I will not be back to that hotel ….. it used to be fairly good ? Good car parking
