I'm sure this place was sweet in the 60s and 70s ... now, not so much.
Between the great reviews and nice pictures online, I feel cheated after spending the $$$ to stay here for 4 nights. I actually ended leaving a day earlier.
• upon check in, were told in room dining available every day (and it was noted in check in paperwork).
Then morning of, we were told that it was not available Saturday and Sunday. Only a breakfast buffet available (which we're not comfortable with during covid).
• outdated room amenities: old weak dryer, Keurig machine that's hit or miss, limited number cheap k cups (I went to the store and bought decent ones) ... in the bathroom: no q-tips, no makeup remover wipes ... little things that you'd expect from a $450/a night place that places like Best Westerns provide no problem ...
• no AC, only a box fan (it was hot!)
• old plumbing - good shower, bad toilet (toilet is slow and loud), bathroom door kept jamming.
• overflowing trash bins around the property ...
• the building looks like it's falling apart. From the hot tub, to the one shower in the women's locker room, many of the lockers' locks were not functioning properly ...
• friendly but disorganized costumer service.
... the list goes on.... pay significantly less somewhere else, save yourself the disappointment (and money).
Caught off guard

I have mixed feelings about giving a 2 star review. We enjoyed our time at the Salishan. It was well maintained and the staff was courteous. The pool and Jacuzzi were large. While there technically was a sauna, it only worked if you turned the timer on an hour ahead of time. I tried turning it on before I worked out to give it time to heat up, but this didn't work. The work out room was well stocked with quality equipment. The landscaping was beautiful.
We were surprised at the room service, or lack thereof. The first day, we could tell they had been there only because the coffee bar had been restocked. The second day was the same. Room service did not make the beds, empty trash cans or replace bathroom towels our entire stay. After day two, the coffee was no longer restocked. None of this was a big deal, just a little surprising.
The biggest complaint was the extra $161.70 that showed up on my credit card bill. (We had made the reservation through a third party.) When I enquired, I was told that these fees were to maintain the pool, the fire pits, etc. - $32.34/night.
If these fees had been brought to our attention at check-in we would not have felt so caught off guard.
Third time the charm!

We booked one nite at the lodge during a recent trip, and were excited about staying at the property. When checking in, we asked for a room with a water view if possible, and the staff was great about accommodating our request. Got to the room and opened the door to the balcony and the beautiful view...and yikes, the traffic noise from was deafening. Duh, what could we expect being right above Hwy 101? So back we went to the lobby, and the busy staff kindly relocated up to a room further from the freeway. It was another gorgeous room, with a step down living area and private balcony. But wait, what was that noise? The chirping was not from the birds, it was from the smoke alarm low battery warning. No problem, we called the front desk and they promised to contact maintenance right away. We waited. And we waited. No chance of relaxing in front of the fire with that $#%@ chirping, trust me. After almost 1.5 hours we called the front desk in desperation and they offered to move us to a new room. Just as we were loading everything back in the car the maintenance guy showed up, apologized profusely, and changed the battery. Ah, sweet, sweet silence. We called the front desk to let them know it was all good, and they said someone was already on the way with keys for an even nicer room if we wanted to move one more time. So we did, and WOW. They comped us in the Canyon Suite, which was *beyond* amazing. The level of customer service and the obvious and sincere concern for their guests was exemplary and very much appreciated. Highly recommended!
Amazing place to host our wedding!!!

Salishan was an amazing place to host our wedding weekend!!! Working with Lauren made all of our planning super simple and the event space was perfect for our Ceremony in the Glen, the Cocktail Party in the Terrace, and the Reception in the Longhouse. My Wife and I enjoyed an excellent stay in the Canyon Suite and the rest of the lodging was great to host our entire bridal party along with several of our family members.
Getting a Grip on Customer Service

While visiting the golf club at Salishan I was given above and beyond customer service by Frank one of the employees at the club house. I desperately needed new grips on my clubs with a golf game scheduled the next morning I was in a time crunch. Frank helped me pick the best grips for my clubs and said he would come back in during the evening and replace the grips so I could use them in the morning. When I arrive the next morning as promised the grips were replaced and were perfect. Good example of excellent customer service.
