Horrible management, lack of sleep
Opinión escrita el 24 de octubre de 2021
There are several things we like about this Courtyard by Marriott, including accommodating, kind, helpful staff. The problem is the management. We were checked in by the front office manager ( Tara or Tesa, I am not sure of the correct spelling) and it was a disaster. She was irritated, unhelpful, had a bad attitude and was borderline rude. We received a Titanium upgrade on the top floor by a staff member through the mobile chat. We arrived at the hotel somewhere around 3pm and she said the suite on the 3rd floor will be ready at 4pm. We waited in a lobby with our luggage until 4pm and she handed us the keys to the room on the 2nd floor. She said that's all she has. Why then lie to us in a first place and guarantee a suite on the 3rd floor by 4pm? She asked if we want $10 credit to use on property or 500 points. We chose points and I politely asked her if we still get a couple bottles of waters. She rudely said "We don't give free water at this property" I said "That's okay" Our room was very noisy. Horrible noise was coming from the room above us all night and she did nothing to correct this. We were up all night. Next day the staff person moved us to the room on the 3rd floor and said we can move our stuff from the room on the 2nd floor when we come back from our errands / sightseeing, since the room on the 3rd floor wasn't ready yet anyway. Tara got involved and said that if we want to move, we have to take our stuff out of the room immediately. The options were to either load all our stuff to the car ( which we did) or to store it at the hotel's desk. I begged to give us at least 40 minutes and she agreed. The room on the 3rd floor was quiet and newer than the one on the 2nd floor, which had an old, dirty comforter, which obviously wasn't replaced during the remodel. The water machine at the fitness center was empty during both days and there was no towels at the fitness center. Since there was no water fountain on the property, it made it challenging.
Parking Fee Rip-Off

The $12 a night parking fee is a very unusual and unwelcome charge for a suburban Marriott hotel. It's a hidden-fee trick worthy of a discount airline. I won't get fooled again...there are plenty of honest alternatives, Hilton, Choice, BW, etc. The hotel is also not quite up to the typical Marriott neatness standards. E.g., unmatched curtains that don't fully close, some spots on bathroom walls, fridge badly needing defrosting.
Rocky Mountain Host

Great spot to visit this iconic town. Wonderful location and great staff. The hotel is clean, new and even if only on an overnight stay you will feel like you just came home. I stayed as an overnight while traveling on the Rocky Mountaineer, and wished I could have enjoyed the location and the hotel longer.
Average hotel outside town.

Disabled room #106 roll in shower. Hotel appears clean & well maintained. Disabled shower bench is by appearance lower than ADA standards. The hand held shower head is large & cumbersome. The hose length does not allow for easy use sitting on the bench. The hotel is not in town, so better with a car. Breakfast & lobby coffee costs extra. No water provided anywhere in the hotel including the gym. Coffee maker & fridge provided.
A short but pleasant stay

Pros: Spacious guest room with comfortable beds, quiet location convenient to many Glenwood Springs attractions. Cons: Typical issues with Courtyard rooms favoring appearances over usefulness. I'll admit my impression and review of this property is based on a very short one-night stay, and most of my time in my guest room was spent sleeping. And if I'm going to spend a lot of time in a room sleeping, Marriott beds are unmatched in the realm of comfort. My king bed was exactly what my aching body needed at the end of a long day of driving. As I've stated in many past reviews, Courtyard properties focus on trendy appearances that result in the functionality of the rooms suffering just a little. The fridge was tiny- barely large enough for a few drinks. Storage is limited and drawers are positioned too close to the floor for tall guests (such as myself). The sofa in the corner looks nice but is too deep and reclined for comfortable TV viewing. On the plus side, the room was very clean and everything was in great condition. Being a small town, nothing in the area required much driving- both the main street through Glenwood Springs (with shops and restaurants) and the Glenwood Caverns amusement park were five minutes by car, and the hotel is located in a shopping center with stores (like Target) reachable on foot.
