We had Fun!

This was great trip for our family. First time visit. The 9 of us stayed in the suites and were comfortable. Everyone loved the indoor park. And the kids all did the horse trail rides and it was phenomenal experience for them. The staff were very patient with the adults and kids alike. One of the kids were afraid so an adult had to stay back but that wasn’t a problem they just refunded our money for those two riders. The great part was the child that was able to talk to horse and feed them With staff supervision. He definitely was not as afraid after that experience.
Like many establishments they are short staffed. So yes you will have to have patience.
The room weren’t 5star but we were comfortable.
Lots and and around the resort. We would consider staying here again.
Understand worker shortage, but very rude front desk management

BEWARE! My family and I booked 2 nights back in March for the weekend of 7/17. We booked a room with two double beds because we have two small children. We received the confirmation # and balance for which we agreed to pay. After check-in, we arrived at a room with only one bed. We simply packed up and went to the front desk where they put us in a nicer room. Upon entry, it only had one bed as well, but it was connected to another suite with an additional bed. After night one, the front desk manager was very rude and informed us we did not have both rooms. I politely informed her that we didn't ask for this room, but it was provided to us since the first room only had one bed and we had reserved a room with two. I informed her this was the room they provided to us, but she told us ‘she would figure it out.’ This was also after going back and forth from our room to the front desk because the key was not working 4 TIMES (very unpleasant at 10PM with two small children). Never received an apology, or further explanation. The next day, we tried to explain the issues we were experiencing, and the front desk manager simply said, “I don’t need to hear your story again.” At this time, we decided to check out. Due to the number of issues we experienced, I asked for a bill to confirm our rates, and it was over double the amount from our original reservation number. I asked for a copy in order to dispute, and the front desk manager stated “your account is locked and there is nothing I can do. You can call accounting on Monday.” It is Monday now and I am not able to reach accounting. I called the front desk to speak with the manager and she is out until Wednesday. I asked for her back up, and was informed they are not allowed to provide that information. I understand there is a worker shortage, but in my opinion, Double JJ is running a fraudulent operation. Additional reviews stating waterpark closure and slow service were standard at this location, but we understand a rural hotel is going to have additional staffing issues. This stuff can be overlooked, but the overall terrible interaction with members of management is inexcusable especially given the high costs.
Disappointed on this one

Overall it was an ok trip. The cabin was nice that we stayed in, however the resort is looking really rundown. There was only one restaurant open, the old western town was shut down, several things in the water park were out of order, half of the arcade games were broken and most of the staff were kids that were not very helpful and usually on their phones behind the counter. I would say our trip was not worth the money we paid to stay there considering we weren't able to use half of the amenities. Hopefully this place can get back on it's feet.
Awful place to stay

I booked my reservation almost a year in advance of my stay. I had heard so many wonderful things about the ranch and cabins and greatly looked forward to my stay.
Unfortunately it was awful from start to finish. Most of the staff at the front desk and who came to my room were very nice, however your manager working the front desk was anything but polite and customer friendly.
To no fault of theirs there was no power when I came to check in. Unfortunately for me and the group I was with our stay there was affected by the power issues. When we were told our cabin (13) was clean and available for us we noticed right away that it was anything but clean. The porch was full of cobwebs and lord knows when it was last swept. The chairs so filthy no way were we going to sit on the porch. Going inside it was obvious the floors hadn't been swept prior to our arrival. Unfortunately there was no broom in the cabin for us to do some cleaning with. The living room lamp didn't work. The phone didn't work. The air conditioner had mold growing out of it. The shower door has black mold growing along the bottom of the door. There's a rack to hang clothes on in the bedroom but no hangers.
There was a half roll of toilet paper in the bathroom with no additional rolls of toilet paper in the cabin.
I had requested at time of reservation and been told I'd have a king bed. I got a room with a queen bed.
All of this was bad enough, mold, half roll toilet paper for 3 night stay, non working phone and light, dirty room, no hangers....and we were paying $250.00 a night for a $30.00 a night no tell motel. But then it came time to go to bed......
I pulled back the bedspread and we had bugs in the bed!!!!!! I threw the bedspread back and it was an unwashed filthy bedspread with a large area of DRIED BLOOD!!!
Imagine seeing that as you're climbing into bed. In this day and age of Covid ALL BEDDING SHOULD BE WASHED AFTER EVERY STAY. No one should ever see a blood stained bedspread in a hotel. I immediately tried to call but my anger was exasperated but the phone not working. Additionally my cell phone didn't have reception in the cabin and no wifi on the back 40. I finally talked with the front desk and they sent someone with clean bedding at 11pm.
Yes, I have pictures of most of this that I can send to you and can post about my stay.
The next day our group wanted to go to the saloon for drinks. To our disappointment we were told it was closed because you didn't have enough staff to open it. It's the 4th of July weekend and they didn't have enough staff to open. WOW!!!!
We wanted to use the indoor water park and facilities bit couldn't because you had no power. Our stay was so disappointing because of this we checked out a day earlier than planned and went home.
When I spoke with your manager she was so rude, condescending, and uncaring. At first she refused to refund me for the night I wasn't staying for. She kept telling me she didn't have the authority to over ride the pricing, only the district manager could do that. When I showed her the pictures she argued with me that I "couldn't prove" it was dried blood. I assure you, being a woman and also working in the medical field for almost 40 years I know dried blood when I see it. As did your staff when they came and changed the bedding.
If your managers don't have the authority to calm a customer and to make it right for them then shame on you!! And if they do, then shame on her for lying to me. Either way the manager needs training on dealing with customers.
My overall thoughts on the Double JJ Ranch is it has the makings of being a fabulous vacation destination. On paper it looks fantastic. In person it's a bloody mess, literally. They need to re think their management staff. If properly managed it could be wonderful. Sadly, it's a no tell motel.
extremely rundown and broken, shabby rooms

The room probably haven't been updated for 30+ years. Mattresses were awful. Furniture coverings had holes in them. Shower doors, window coverings, closet doors were broken and didn't close completely. The resort's facilities may have been OK, but I would not stay in any of their rooms.
