Old hotel with lackadaisical service
Opinión escrita el 22 de septiembre de 2021
The check-in desk staff were unhelpful when we arrived. The rooms are old. Also, expect noise from booked events. I was happy to leave. Just another poorly staffed and maintained Marriott affiliated property.
A soulless hotel in a classic wrapper
Opinión escrita el 9 de septiembre de 2021
Good: Location - right downtown. Parking next door. Easy access to the entire Green Bay metropolitan area. Reuse of an old hotel - happy they didn’t tear down the hotel snd instead renovated the property. Some employees - Sandy, Ryan, Theresa, Emily provided true hospitality. Not so good: Housekeeping - our room seemed as if it had never seen a dust cloth; lamps, baseboards, windowsills all were more than a little dusty. Coverlet had a hole. Towels routinely had very noticeable strings. Coffee grounds spilled on the baseboard prior to arrival were still there a week later despite our request for daily housekeeping. Overall hospitality - aside from the aforementioned staff, there is little to recommend this property. Despite my calling to let them know we would be late due to flight delays, our room was not ready when we arrived at 11pm. Rarely were we asked about our stay or even acknowledged during the week we spent there. Property - Lobby is underfurnished and seems half-done and needs a piano, some plants and some life. The unmanned shoeshine stand was sad. Aside from the lobby, the charm had been renovated out of this hotel; it’s a highway chain hotel in an historic wrapper. It felt as if I were staying in a bank for lack of hospitality we received. Restaurants - we enjoyed our breakfasts in the Walnut Room; leisurely and very good food, while not too expensive. Great service. Ate at Poke the Bear for lunch one day and we both enjoyed our meals. Overall - I received a survey following our departure and let the hotel know about the highs and lows of our stay. The response to the survey was so anodyne and generic, I wasn’t sure my comments had been read and understood, no less considered or acted upon. And that pretty much sums up the Northland: they’re not about hospitality and celebrating the historic nature of the property. Rather, it’s an empty wrapper of a once great hotel which now contains a soulless, suburban branded hotel which is only about generating return on investment for its investors. If you enjoy style over substance, the Northland is for you. And I find that the most sad and telling aspect of our stay.
Wedding Weekend Lodging!
Opinión escrita el 6 de septiembre de 2021
This hotel is so beautiful! So many photo ops for wedding memories! We stayed the weekend and had such great service. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfy! Being downtown near our guests and venues we had for get togethers was convenient.
Classy hotel in DT Green Bay
Opinión escrita el 13 de agosto de 2021
Was pleasantly surprised to find an Autograph level Marriott affiliated property in DT Green Bay. Gorgeous renovation evokes a different time and place. Parking garage next door makes DT parking a non issue ($10 per night). Our King suite (rm 301) was comfortable and allowed for both of to relax and a place for me to work. Bathroom was a highlight- great water pressure and immaculate. Bar/restaurant was trying hard (staffing) but food was good and it had a welcoming atmosphere. Recommended.
Historic Hotel just a block from all the action downtown

Go back in time, but be pleased with the updated comfy rooms. The place is legendary and continues to marvel its guests. So convenient to City Deck and the downtown scene I don't know why you would try any place else. We love old things so maybe we overlook flaws, but we thought the staff was very helpful and pleasant and didn't miss or experience any of the things the less favorable reviewers mention
