Not the best value for price
Opinión escrita el 11 de Octubre de 2019
Clean. Night clerk was friendly and helpful. Price was high for this facility with no amenities. Uncomfortable bed. Worn and outdated furnishings. Overloaded electrical outlets. Parts missing from coffee maker. Peeling paint. Breakfast was not the buffet but a limited choice of sparse portions. It won’t be our choice again. For a few dollars more we could have stayed at a modern hotel with many more amenities. Lesson learned.
In town for Poker Run

We stayed here 2 nights. I would have given a 2.5 rating, but there is no category for that.
First, the good:
Mary Helen at the front desk, and the day lady today at the front desk, whose name I didn’t get, but she’s worked there 12 years, were super nice and represented the motel well!
The bed and pillows were very comfy!
We could park our motorcycle at our front door, always a plus!
We had a fridge, microwave & coffee pot, always necessities.
The room included buffet breakfasts both days; Saturday was a plentiful selection, and would have been worth the menu price.
Flat screen TV with adequate channels.
Shower pressure was great, even very tall people would like the high shower head.
The parking lot was in good shape for motorcycles.
Now, the bad:
The two chairs in the room looked like the last time anyone cleaned the upholstery was 2015 at least. They looked so nasty I would not sit on them.
Apparently at some point a wall exhaust fan was added in the bathroom, but they used an incompetent to do the job, since the the sheetrock and plaster job was a huge, ugly place on the wall.
The light switch to the bathroom was not in the bathroom. It was outside the bathroom. The only switch in the bathroom was the timer for a heat lamp.
Now, for the worst:
My husband went down the way to discuss dinner plans with friends, while I went to the bathroom. I didn’t turn on the light outside the door, just the timer heat lamp. It was cold out, and I still had on my chaps over my jeans. When I tried to get out of the bathroom, the door would NOT open. I had not locked it, I only shut it when I went in. There was a small button in the center of the handle. It was obviously defective. I did everything I could think to get the knob to open the door. No luck. Then, I realized I had my knife in my chaps. I was finally after a few minutes able to pry open the latch. From the looks of the door, this had happened before!
And: The Sunday breakfast buffet was half that of Saturday. Not worth the additional cost of the breakfast.
Finally: When we came in Saturday evening, the man doing the mowing had blown grass all over the entrance drive, which is downhill. When my husband told this man he needed to get all the grass off the drive immediately, that this is like riding on glass for bikers, the guy gave my husband attitude, saying he needed to do edging, etc. My husband insisted, so the guy begrudgingly got the grass off the drive.
All in all, the owners need to spend lots of money for upkeep on this motel. In light of the number of new, clean, major-chain motels in Guymon, I would not be surprised if this one goes out of business. I know we won’t book it again.
Definitely Stay Again

This was a very comfortable room. The staff was very helpful and friendly. A large group from France had arrived at the same time we were checking in, and yet the two staff members behind the desk never missed a beat. We were looking for a handicapped room, but they were sold out. So when we were not able to have that request, they worked with us to get a room that was close to parking. They didn’t hesitate when we asked to see the room before completing our booking. Breakfast was available, however, as we were hurrying to attend a funeral in Wisconsin, we were gone before we could enjoy that. We would definitely stay here again.
Decent place to stay

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It showed wear and tear in the room and there was a bug in the bathroom but it was a good size room. It had available outlets to use for charging our phones. We were passing through and it fulfilled our needs.
5 State Run Weekend
Opinión escrita el 16 de Mayo de 2017
Guymon, Ok, located in the panhandle of Oklahoma is a nice little community. Every year, on the 2nd Saturday of the month, the local motorcycle group puts on a rally where riders start at the Texas County Fairgrounds, ride thru 5 states and returns back to the Fairgrounds. This event draw motorcyclist from all across the US. This sleepy little town becomes home to approx 1000 motorcyclist. Getting a room in town becomes quite the challenge.
The Ambassador Inn was selected not because of the name or pricing. It was but just one that I could find that didn't have a waiting list and had a handful of rooms still available for the weekend.
It is an older property and was in need of some updating. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. I wasn't the quietest place I've stayed but after riding some 450 miles to get there, I fell asleep right away.
The exhaust fan had to be unplugged as it sounded as if it was going to explode. When I pulled the cover to find the plug, it appeared as though it hadn't been cleaned in at least 10 years. The toilet was very loud when flushed and the seat was barely attached. Thankfully I carry a small repair kit that had a screw driver inside and was able to snug it up a bit.
All in all, it wasn't the worst place I've ever stayed. If you need a place to crash for the night, the price is just right.
Breakfast was provided at the attached restaurant as part of the cost of the room.
