The A.C. in my room was not working correctly.

Normally I would rate a 5, but the a.c. in my room did not work. The maintenance person did visit and told us it was working fine, but it really was not. The room was humid and warm all night. For a new hotel, I was really surprised that the a.c. would be so bad. Don't unpack your bags until you make sure the a.c. is cold!!

....poor property maintenance. The shining spot of this property for me were Tiffany and Lisa from Trinidad at the front desk. They were both problem solvers and exuded charm and southern hospitality. Super kind. The property itself was subpar and in dire need of a deep clean and renovations. Okay for a quick in and out.....
Below par for a Marriott property

I am a Marriott member. I checked in to this property and was told that system is not working and was asked to give my Driver license and Credit card to be copied and sign on the photocopy. I was not comfortable with this due to privacy concerns of my private information on a piece of paper. But I had no choice as I was travelling long distance. After checking in to my hotel I found that my room had 2 double beds rather than 2 queen beds as per my reservation. I also found that Sofa was torn and TV was not working. Position of TV was so odd that it could be watched only from one bed. I pointed out few things to Front desk person and she said she understands but is not able to do anything as hotel is full. I then complained to Marriott customer service. He said they will check with the hotel. Overall even Marriott customer service wasn't of lot of help. He said he will transfer my complaint to hotel property. When I insisted, he agreed to file a ticket on my behalf. Expected time for me to hear about this ticket is 3-5 business days. Overall, this is below par experience.
Time for renovation

Understandably the Covid crisis has delayed many plans for renovation of hotels. However, this hotel was visibly due for major work before the big shutdown. From the cracked shower tiles to the mildew cracks in the shower ceiling to the sunken mattress and moldy windows, it's past time! I'll have to give this property 2 stars . Prices are way too high for a hotel in this condition. Management needs to take a look and invest in the future.
Springhill Suites..a disappointment

The parking lot and lobby were notebly clean. We were advised that we would have a bagged continental breakfast since COVID regulations were still in force. Upon checking into our king suite, we saw the sofa cushions were tattered and torn. One cushion had the stuffing coming out The next morning at 8:30 most food and coffee were no longer available. There were small packages muffins available. The explanation by staff was that there had been a basketball tournament in town and the customers had eaten most everything. I find this unacceptable. The hotel should be prepared to feed a full house. of clientele. My family will be cautious about staying at another Springhill Suites. I expect more from a Marriot facility.
