We have just returned from a very pleasant stay at the crown hotel, We were pleased with all aspects of our stay with all the staff being helpful in the difficult circumstances. The Coronavirus has affected everyone and hopefully it will go as quick as it came. We have stayed at the hotel several times and it is always welcoming the food is always good and we hope we can return again soon.
We stayed in the Crown Hotel for 2 nights and would highly recommend it. The staff were friendly and happy to assist. We stayed on an executive double which was a good size with en-suite. The room was clean and well presented. The food we had in the hotel was of a high quality We will definitely stay again
Nice for a weekend break
Spent a two night break at The Crown Hotel in Boroughbridge. The spar is not too big but the facilities are excellent. The spa is well maintained and well run with staff always on hand. Our room was a bit on the small side although the bed was huge. I had issues with my pillows that I felt were a bit hard but a word to reception and they were changed promptly. The breakfast is excellent and all the food is freshly cooked to order. There is a main restaurant which is very nice and the food was good but I found it a bit chilly. You can also eat in the bar from a separate menu. All together I would recommend The Crown for a short break. I found it expensive because we could only go at certain times and had to ensure we could cancel if necessary which adds to the cost. All the staff we encountered from the Manager down the chain were all excellent.
Everything we needed
Lovely place and amazing staff. Liz and Dawn really helped us during our stay. The room was nice, warm and we had everything we needed. The pool area is lovely. Great price. The bar was quite expensive but that's not unusual!
Where’s the bar man ?
Popped into this hotel for a snack/ drink whilst out in Boroughbridge late one afternoon. Been there before and noted how slow the bar service could be sometimes. No bar man around this time despite other people in the bar. I waited 10-15 minutes but no sign of life from behind the bar or restaurant. Finally fed up I went to reception and told them the bar man appeared to be absent. They apologised but by then I’d lost my appetite and thirst. Shame as it’s a nice location but I’ll probably look elsewhere next time.
