This Hampton Inn is large and is coupled with a Home 2 Suites in the same building. Check in was fast, and the employees were friendly. My experience was spoiled by poor internet that never really worked. I spoke to the front desk about this issue, and they said that since they switched to AT&T that internet had been spotty. I was never able to use my laptop.

Football weekend

I stayed here for three nights to attend a Southern Miss football game and visit some sorority sisters. I chose the HGI for its location and was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The real star of the hotel is the maintenance man (Jason) who can and does it all. They are lucky to have him. As a Diamond member of Hilton I have always gotten breakfast free. I was given a $10 credit for the $10.95 buffet. Every Hilton property has written off anything over the voucher but one night of the three I was charged .95 cents for breakfast. I’m not one to argue over 95 cents but it was a minor irritation. I would stay here again when I return to Hattiesburg.

Disgusting

Front desk was great at check in. After dropping my stuff and changing shirts, I had to attend an event, I left without checking the room. Getting back late, the bathroom was awful. It was too late to check in somewhere else and the room was prepaid. Early checkout and no one at the front desk! Awful stay, unclean, and skipped breakfast because if the bathroom had this many issues, no telling whats behind the scenes. Disgusting!

Family Reunion

This stay took place from 6/30 - 7-1. I Have 7 rooms total and was very disappointed in the cleanest, we had soil linen and request a change of linen and had to make the bed ourselves. I have to get light bulbs for the Lamp. Carpets are badly stained and dirty and trashy. Especially in the Hallways and the One working Elevator, (Yes the Frt Desk and Elevator serve both HamptonInn and Home2). I made it known to the management. The next morning I asked how they were going to address it and was told by the front desk clerk that the manager would call me. I asked them to call me before I put a negative review to give them the opportunity to address a resolution. They didn’t bother to call. In addition, to this Hilton Honors Charge me 3 X the points. And no one has made it right. I was actually ripped off by 70,000. Point. I will stay the front desk clerks did try to help but were very limited. They were all very professional and understaff. Patrice, went above and beyond to help, but she was only there One day of my stay. I am still waiting to hear from Management.

Great staff and hotel

I can’t say enough about the friendliness of the hotel workers. Each person I came in contact with spoke and smiled. They seemed to enjoy working there and it made me smile due to their hospitality. The rooms were clean and perfect for our family.
