Bom custo beneficio
Me hospedei nesse hotel no inicio de abril.
My daughter and I spent 2 weeks at the hotel. My concerns were raised after meeting with the Rep who advised us not to go out in the area in the evening. It wasn't in a good location and we had to get a taxi into Old Havana every day. This would various in cost depending on how honest the taxi driver was. When we left the hotel to go and get a taxi which was a 5 minute walk away we would get relentlessly hassled from locals and people repeatedly asking if we wanted a taxi. We also got sneered at and inappropriate sexual comments made to us. On arrival at the hotel we wasn't told anything about breakfast, it was only after I spoke to the rep. There was also no safe in the room. The staff were generally unhelpful on the desk and would serve other people if they interrupted you when you were asking the hotel receptionist for help which was really annoying. There were however, some really lovely staff, namely the lady who cleaned our room, the lady who worked nights on reception, the guy who waited on the tables in the breakfast area and the girl who worked in the bar. They were really friendly but the others didn't care. The air conditioning in the room was really noisy and so were some of the guests who thought it appropriate to have the music on their TV full blast with their door open so all the corridor could hear it at 8.30am. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It's probably ok for one night but not 2 weeks. The worst thing was the location. One evening we decided to stay in the hotel bar when a Cuban guy who was drunk tried to speak with us. Trying to be polite we exchanged a few words then his partner stormed off. He then proceeded to drag her back through the bar by her hair and threw her back down on the chair. We were absolutely horrified. Not one person in the bar flinched. I was the only one to ask her if she was ok and told him he shouldn't do that. Needless to say we left straight away and went back to our room. We felt really unsafe in this part of town. Avoid it.
I just got back from Cuba, an amazing country and highly recommended. I stayed for 8 days in the Hotel Bruzon. The staff is very friendly and attentive; excellent cleaning and breakfast is very good; lots of fruit, meat, eggs (fried or natural tortilla), juices, soft drinks, coffee... in short: a very tasty buffet. The Hotel also has a bar with daily shows and Cuban typical cocktails. If you go, ask a Yuriesmi a "Zakiljana", typical cocktail sabroson.Thank you very much to all the workers of the Hotel and to all Cuba.
