the good: wifi- cheap kitchen
the bad: the managers were dishonest; unfriendly; liers; unkind; baligerent; racist; tried to rip me off. This hotel is charging premium dollar for unclean hotel; the hallway carpets are filthy; the room had a dirty floor; the refrigerator was chap and old; the electric range didn't work at first. didn't like the TV location; the place smelled of cleaning chemicals trying to hide bad smells. the breakfast area was very small. the elevator was looking unsafe and unclean; the drinking fountain was out of order. the service was the very worst i've ever experienced.
1 star.......... should be negative 5..... do not go here. they should not be in people services business.

Poorly maintained, bare-bones continental breakfast, and things like the elevator and water fountain don't work. The kicker is the cards given to us didn't work 50% of the time and the staff was uninterested in fixing the problem.

TripAdvisor is very consistent most of the time and you will notice this hotel is very bad reviewed in this region. As far as I know this is one of the worst hotel options in Hayward and suggest you to look for other options if possible. Service is terrible and the person on the front desk needs additional training.
Slightly dirty, slightly run down place

Location of hotel is not bad, right across the street from a strip mall with restaurants and shops. The room was OK, except the floors were sticky throughout which made me wonder if it was just excess cleaning liquid or something else.
Towel rods and towel rack above the commode are cheap quality and give the impression that they will come off the wall if you yank the towel too hard. They were also dirty and/or rusty. I also saw a millipede and a few earwigs in the toilet, which wasn’t pleasant.
However, you do get a kitchenette and a decent bed at a good price, so I might stay there again if better quality hotels are not available. But I do wish they’d clean the floors and toilets properly.
The reason for the bad review is 100% due to staff / management rudeness.

The hotel itself is comfortable and conveniently located, reasonably clean, and fairly quiet. My review of one star is solely due to my experience with the manager / gentleman who runs the front desk. He was not only curt and rude at check-in, he had the audacity to actually yell at me and call me a "liar" at the top of his voice in front of many other guests. This was because at check-in he told me that there was no smoking in the rooms, and we would be charged a $100 fee on our CC if we smoked in the room. While I am a smoker, I do NOT smoke indoors, while at home or while traveling, as I do not want my clothing to smell of smoke, and it's inconsiderate of others. This manager asked me in the morning if I had been smoking, and I replied "no", thinking he meant "had i been smoking in the room". He then leaned into my face and shouted "You are a LIAR!! I saw you smoking in front of the hotel!" I then told him in a normal tone of voice that yes, I smoke, outside, but I thought he meant indoors. He continued to yell and berate me for a few moments, not listening to my explanation at all, and embarrassing me terribly in front of other guests. I have called corporate headquarters for the property to report this gentleman- I heard him yelling at another guest the next morning. He does not seem like someone who belongs in the hospitality industry.
