Wonderful Front Office staff

At the time of check-in, we had a slight problem with our booking (actually a big a problem due to our own fault) but young Manjol and I am not sure about the name, I guess it was Mr. Syed, they accommodated us very professionally even though the hotel was fully booked. Both of them were really helpful, respectful and very professional. Thanks to both of them!
And now the hotel itself, it is an old dame and needs complete refurbishing, everything is old and tired. The price and product value is not in balance, I found it a little to expensive for this kind of Marriott property.
Nice location but a little outdated

Directly on the river Neckar, this hotel is well located. As a platinum elite we got upraded to a junior suite. When the TV was defective they changed us to a 1bdr suite with a nice view., thank you Marriott. The bathrooms in both suites need urgent remodeling however. The tiles look oldfashioned and the bathtub/shower is very high which makes it inconvenient for older people. The executive lounge is still closed due to covid but they compensate with 750 points and open a corner with soft drinks and bottled beer and some snacks. Breakfast is served in the restaurant with contact tracing registration whether by app or by paper form. One-way at the buffet and mask-wearing when not seated. We felt safe and the personnel was friendly and proactive.
Old and begging for the invoice

It was more than 10 years ago that I stayed last time at the Marriott Heidelberg. And it didnt change a bit : lobby, elevators, corridors and some parts of the bathroom (shower in the bathtub, plastic washing table) survived without any upgrade the last 10 years. And honestly : it does not give a fresh impression.
As I travelled for work, I needed an invoice. And I request to send me the invoice by email which usually works out very well in other hotels and which allows me to handle the invoice in a digital way without manual scanning. Though not at Marriott. No invoice was received and I called 3 times (waiting 20 minutes each time in queue, wrestling through the telephone keys to chose the right options : language, reservation ?, meeting ?, etc, etc.) Finally in all 3 cases, I got a very friendly operator who promised me to send me the invoice to the email address in my profile. Though, without any results. Is it that difficult ??? Finally I stayed on the line (total process at least 30 minutes) until the invoice was in my mailbox. Also my assistent called but for data security they refused to send her the invoice (which I understand).
Conclusion : I arrived late at night, checked out early morning and spend 2 hours of effort to get the invoice.
Sorry, Marriott, but I have no time for that....

To Marriott members don’t have great expectations!! This one must be the worse Marriott in the world I personally would call it the tiny Marriott !! Tiny room tiny bath tiny elevator tiny pool tiny sauna !! This is a black spot in Marriott history,, more over last night I could not find a space to set down at reception because Mercedes has taken over the hotel for some conference!!! Are you serious!!! I can’t have a seat in the loopy!!!!
Dated property and no housekeeping for three days citing Covid 19 as a reason!

Stayed for three nights in this hotel. From outside it looks alright but the rooms are very dated. The wall paper was sort of peeling off in places. The bathroom was very dated. We were told that there will not be any housekeeping services for us since we were staying for three nights. Apparantly the rooms would be cleaned only once in three days because of Covid 19! We found this rather strange since we stayed in four other hotels in Germany during this trip and none of the hotels had this ridiculous rule. The consequence of this was that our room and bathroom/toilet were not cleaned during our entire stay. We have never experienced this in any of our hotels stays ever. Very dissapointing for a Marriott.
