Value for money
My 3rd stay Friendly staff...they remembered one by name which doesnt happen everywhere nowadays....efficient check.in Rooms ok...bit cramped but bed is comfortable and bain adequate. Noisy in corridor at night....near the elevator is not a good room as doors are not soundproofed Else ok for the cost
1 night 2 day stop-over
Made the decision to stay here due to TripAdvisor reviews....so here are my comments: on the Mainland. Just a few streets off what is a very upmarket area. Once you start heading towards the hotel, the neighborhood becomes dodgy. The outside sign is torn. There are 'ladies' on the street. Having said that- the inside is lovely. The room (we took a superior room) was very comfortable. Clean. Everything you need. Great wifi. Quiet. Very safe. In fact outside is also VERY safe. The hotel is well located, close to metro. Close to night market. In fact I would stay here again! The staff were exceptional! Helpful, friendly and very accommodating. Dont let the outside put you off. It almost did me, and I have changed my mind completely. A great hotel.
Value for money but not for everyone
Friendly staff. Owned by a serial entrepeneur apparently, good resto next door, owns a great biscuit bakery (free samples in lobby) and very nice old illustrations of hk in the past on walls elevator etc. Stylish Rooms a bit small...but well equipped...plugs, accessories, good But Altho HK is totally safe, the PC type of traveller, or the excessively morally upright may find the area around challenging. The street has a populstion of erm.....^^working ladies^^ which would have rivalled Times Sq NYC in the 80s. But quirky, friendly, clean, good wifi, well located..and good priced
A short stay
This was a very small but functional room. There was a fridge, shower and toilet all within arms reach of the bed. No natural light, but very good WiFi. It’s easy to get to by bus from the airport and it’s bustling with eateries, markets and restaurants. I found reception helpful and informative. Felt perfectly safe travelling on my own.
This is the most horrible, poor and dirty hotel I've been in my life. It's been really a terrible experience. Hotel practically without lobby, without facilities, with the smallest room you can imagine, like a cemetery burial place, without hangers or cabinets, and unbelievably small bathroom. And the price was more than 130 US$! Ten times more what you could expect for a dog's room like that. And the personnel at check-in is very arrogant and impolite. Not only they charge your card upon check-in instead of charging upon check-out, but also they ask you for another credit card, that should be different from the first (I don't know why?), for covering guarantee for incidental costs, and they force you to sign the slip! Incidental costs for what, in such a flophouse? The road outside is full of prostitutes.
