Christmas & New Year Stay
I just finished a wonderful 12-night stay including Christmas and New Year. The suites are well-designed and comfortable. The bathrooms are especially upgraded and include a bidet toilet, nice rain-drop shower with hand wand, soaking tub, and dual vanities with a TV built into the mirror. The kitchenette includes everything you need to make a light meal. The bed is comfortable. There are nice clothes washers and dryers available on every floor. The property is nicely situated in Waikiki with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. It is ideal for couples and solo travelers. Besides being an excellent property, the gem here is in the friendly staff. I had excellent cleaning service from housekeeping. The front desk staff are efficient. The parking valets are also outstanding, especially Brandis on the morning and Paul on the evening shifts. The valet is very convenient, just a few steps to the elevator and you are on your way up to your room. Call down and your car will be waiting for you as soon as you exit the elevator.
Quiet Paradise
The Hokulani is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is excellent, the lobby restaurant Il Tappo has wonderful food at a fair price and the staff (especially the owner Salvatore) are incredible and the roof top pool is a nice retreat from the crowds. The rooms are a little smaller than other HGV properties but the space is used very efficiently. Susan (front desk) is absolutely wonderful and an elite problem solver. The hotel is located in the heart of many restaurants adjust a 5 min walk to the beach. We have stayed there twice and will do so again.
Birthday Stay-cation
We stayed for my wife's birthday. Once again Robert and the Hokulani team provided a great welcome and lots of Holiday Aloha. Thanks to Brandus, Gee, Bryan, Susan, Josh, Cassel, Kenzil, and Paul, for always making us feel at home when we stay. The Hokulani Christmas decorations are beautiful, and we look forward to seeing them each year.
Wonderful stay at Hokulani during COVID
We just returned from a glorious 8 nights at the Hokulani in Waikiki. We own a timeshare at Grand Islander and tried to come to Hawaii four times this year and all previous trips were canceled. When Hawaii opened up again and Hilton was accepting guests, we didn't hesitate to book a week at Hokulani since Hilton Village is still closed. We had a fabulous stay despite Covid and all the hoops we jumped through to get there. Everyone from the front desk, to the bellmen, to the housekeeping staff and the valet were so friendly and welcoming, it made me think of my first visit to Hawaii 50 years ago...when the islands were just being discovered and hospitality was more than just a nice word. We were thrilled to be back in Waikiki and surfing, diving, kayaking and hiking and Hokulani was the best place to launch from every morning. Our room, on the 15th floor, had a nice view of the ocean and the balony was just big enough for our two chairs to relax in every morning having coffee. The bathroom is spacious, the kitchenette had everything we needed, the frig and freezer were big enough for our groceries and my son loved the huge smart TVs in both rooms. There are washer and dryers down the hall, and while the pool bar and coffee kiosk were not open, it didn't matter...we made a point of walking down to the beach at happy hour each night instead and watching the sunset. Thank you Hokulani for being open and fabulous.
Hokulani is Open!
Hokulani is open now, and their staff have implemented all mandatory pandemic public health measures while maintaining their local Aloha and great customer service. The rooms are still outstanding, and the Hokulani team completed quite a lot of upgrades during their closure period. We are so happy to be able to stay in our favorite Hilton Hawai’i hotel again!
