Great first visit to St. Louis

Reviewed 22 november, 2022

This was our first visit to St. Louis as we were visiting relatives over the weekend. This is a great hotel for families and very convenient for anyone needed to stay near the airport. Front Desk Staff: The front desk was very friendly upon check-in and even gave me a welcome bag of bottled water and snacks as part of my Hilton Honors membership level (Gold). It was after 2 am in the morning and the hotel was able to send a shuttle to pick us up from STL airport within 10-15 minutes of calling. Our room was number 612 since I wanted to ensure we would have a quiet room and avoid any noise from the lobby/atrium. We also received extra towels, shampoos, and also requested a late checkout time on our final day. Food: The breakfast was exactly how I remembered Embassy Suites' breakfasts used to be before the pandemic. There was made-to-order omelettes and pancakes, eggs, biscuits, gravy, sausage, bacon, toast, oatmeal, fresh fruit, coffee, juices, and even soda machine. They really care about the patrons and tables were bused very efficiently. The social hour was from 5:00-6:30pm every evening and from the one night we went, it was calm and not too crowded on a Saturday evening. They had good selection from beers, wines, and cocktails. Room/hotel: The room was clean and spacious. We had 2 beds in one room and a separate living room with a microwave and fridge. The bathroom was separated from the bedroom, which is a plus if you do not want to disturb anyone when having to use the sink. The sofa was comfortable and tv's worked well. The desk chair was worn out and not comfortable. The heater/ac unit was controlled in the main living room, so that room tended to get more warm air than the bedroom. We simply kept the door that was between the bedroom and living open in order to maintain good temperature between both spaces. The swimming pool is indoor and was warm. The towels were abundant and we even noticed a nice exercise room with water dispenser next to the pool. In all, we are glad to have stayed at this property because it checked off all the boxes we needed as a family of 4 (near airport, 24/7 airport shuttle, onsite breakfast, separate rooms, free internet, free parking). Not only did they check all the boxes, but their customer service was hospitable and we can't wait to return to St. Louis and stay here again.

Quick stopover

We have stayed here previously in preparation for early morning flights. They provide a shuttle, and we can park our car on site. We appreciate all of this. We had a 3:30 am shuttle and driver for this hotel normally starts at 4, but came in early to get us to the airport. All appreciated.

No coffee?????

Reviewed 28 october, 2022

We were staying because of a family emergency, so we were hoping for a refuge, which we did not get. We already knew that the pool was going to be closed for maintenance, so that was no surprise, but we did not know there was no housekeeping. When we got back the first night, our room was unmade, a housekeeper was in the hall, we asked to just exchange towels and were told no, to get them from reception. The sofa was pulled about 4 feet off the wall, when I explored, I found mold by the a/c. Now the famous "reception" and full hot breakfast. Our first night, cheese and crackers were served at the reception, a good go-with with a mixed drink, the next night was trail mix- the kind with m&m's, not the thing for cocktails. But it gets better! Although the breakfast area was always deserted, breakfast was just not up to standards; no oatmeal, green bananas, toaster that didn't toast (but it did warm) and the kicker, NO COFFEE OR CREAMER. I, for one, need my morning coffee. I told my husband that there was coffee in the little shop- you would think that they would just give you coffee, not sell it, but no. The manager did go stomping into the kitchen. As we were leaving a server brought us 2 cups of coffee and said, "Here, it's decaf." We go to St Louis a lot. We won't be staying here again.

Great St Louis experience.

Needed to work from my room mixing business with a pleasure trip. The hotel’s internet never misses a beat allowing me to work. Breakfast was fabulous and quick ! Room was great and very quiet. The staff was accommodating and very welcoming. Really enjoyed my experience.

Great customer service!

The customer service sets this hotel apart from others. From Stacey at the front desk to Tammy & her daughter bartending. Staff was super friendly and professional. The room was comfortable. I really like the separate room to conduct private business and rooms available on the 1st floor. The only reason I didn't rate this property excellent is the pool was closed for repairs and there is no hot tub. As a traveling auditor, it would be nice to relax in a hot tub. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this hotel in the STL area.
