Worst Anniversary Weekend Getaway Ever
Reviewed 26 July, 2021
I arrived onsite on Friday the 23rd @ or around 6pm. The first thing I noticed about this location is the location. The hotel location, ( in my opinion) was not in a ideal location. So when I arrived , I was met with a wonderful young man, who was full of energy and enthusiasm. He was very professional. While we were in the mist of checking in, a customer was displaying his opinion on this particular property. The customer stated that his room that he checked into was extremely dirty and that there was no hot water at all in his room. So, as I was hearing this man vent about the hotel, I started to second guess my stay at that location. We decide to move forward in checking into our room. The young front agent informed us that our hotel room that we originally booked was no longer available but he stated that he will relocate us in another room similar but a step below the one that was booked. The agent stated that he was going to wave the security deposit due to our inconvenience. So he gave us a room on the 11th floor. While being in the room, we noticed the room looked half cleaned and we only had one set of towels to use. So while getting ready to enjoy our anniversary weekend celebration, I turned on the shower, I noticed the water was not getting warm nor hot. So I waited for at least 15 to 20 minutes to see if it would change and it did not. So I had no choice but to take a cold shower. My wife was very unhappy about that. After we both took a cold shower, we headed out for dinner. After a night out in the town. We came back to the hotel to shower up and got to bed. The water was now feeezing cold. I called down to the front desk to see why the shower water was cold and a gentleman informed me that the hot water tank next door to the hotel had some issues on Friday morning and there was a mechanic working on it as we speak. Low and behold there was no mechanic warming and the water was freezing cold for the entire stay of our trip. So add insult to injury, our room door would not lock. We tried and tried to lock the door while we step out to enjoy the evening and our room door would not lock at all. So we contact the front desk about it and he moves us to another room on the 9th floor that was even more messy and dirty then the first room. At this point , we were so feed up and tired , we just decide to deal with it and just check out on Sunday. Our whole anniversary weekend was ruined by our experience staying at this hotel. I truly was very disappointed in the cleanliness of that hotel ans we couldn’t even sleep at night because of the outside patrons screaming, arguing and also hearing gun shots early in the morning. This hotel will not be recommended and I will be placing this review on all travel sites. If I knew that this property was this dirty and no hot water, I would have canceled my reservation and booked another property. The bad thing about it is , nobody informed us about no hot water at the property nor having limited staff cleaning the hotel. We weren’t given the opportunity to make a choice about staying or booking at another property near by due to the issues that were present at that time.
Leisure Weekend With Bride To Be

My cousin and I stayed at the Candlewood Suites Inner Harbor from May 14, 2021 to May 16, 2021. The accommodation we received was room 321. Check in was pleasant and expeditious, all the staff were friendly. Upon arrival to the room, I went to hang up my purse and jacket in the closet, there were popcorn kernels and a crumpled bag on the floor. I called the front desk, and housekeeping came upstairs. They picked u the visible popcorn kernels with tissue, however the bag remained there. There was a sticky substance in the refrigerator and tile with a hole exposed in the bathroom. The room had no iron and when it was requested we never received it. Then there was the bedding. Stains on the comforter. I removed the comforter, and sanitized the room and bed with lysol I purchased. I also had pillowcases because the bedding being dirty was not comforting. This hotel has the potential to be great. The room layout and amenities are great to my standards, and the courteous staff was a plus. Its housekeeping that keeps this review from being 5 stars. Dirty bedding, no iron and dirty refrigerator is not sanitary.
Great Value For Where It's Located

I was pleasently surprised at how great this hotel is. If you plan on statying in town for a couple days, it's worth it. The price plus the amenities is perfect for the area.
Cleaniness of the building was decent. They must have read past reviews and made improvements.
Wish I had a reason to stay more than a day so I could get a true feel for what was going on.
I definitely recommend it.
Candlewood Suites is an Exceptional Hotel to Stay!

Candlewood Suites is everything!
The appearance of the hotel's exterior and interior was exceptional along with the amenities. The lobby area has incorporated modern furniture and decor, including a nice size, mounted LCD TV. Near the entrance/lobby area, is 4 washer/4 dryer laundry units. All washer and dryer units appeared to be up to date and fully functional.
Candlewood Suites laundry amenity is provided completely free to all current guests at this hotel. The laundry 4 washers and 4 dryer units are freely accessible 24hrs (must use hotel key to access) however, you must provide your own detergent. It is also adjacent to the gym fitness center.
The guestroom suites are exactly as advertised. The kitchenette and bathroom appliances are up to date and fully functional. The shower and bathroom (adjacent) sink water pressure and the temperature gauge are somewhat temperamental.
The guestroom suites are also roomy and cozy. The kingsize bed along with large textured soft and firm pillows were incredibly comfortable.
A nice Samsung model 40inch + TV installed on the bureau for enjoyable pleasure and entertainment.
The hotel staff is professional and they provided every day housekeeping services.
I really enjoyed my stay in the king premium studio suite! It was really cozy.
All appliances and utilities were completely functional.
All hotel common areas are immaculately clean. I especially took notice of the maintenance personnel cleaning the entrance, lobby, and elevator floors every day.
All hotel staff was polite, professional, and accomodating.
If you can bypass the moderately sketchy neighborhood and vagabonds, Candlewood Suites is exceptional and conveniently located to many eateries and convenience stores! Highly recommended.
Worst ever in a long time!!!

This was by far the worst hotel I stayed in a long time. First parking is two blocks away from the hotel so you have to walk through an alley and abandoned buildings in the streets of Baltimore. When you get to the hotel out of breath and tired there are a line of junkies standing in front of the building(needle users) the air conditioning unit kept cutting on and off which sound like someone was going to enter the room. There were people hanging out and talking real loud in the hallways now I’m on the 10 th floor and all I hear outside is police on the loud speaker telling the junkies to move . Ok I’m thinking maybe there is a police station around I hear cars all night long and loud music. What took the cake was about 4am GUNSHOTS!!! I’m not even kidding my husband is a hard sleeper but he woke up for that . Needless to say we got no sleep I wanted to leave but was scared to walk the two blocks to the parking garage at 5 in the morning in the dark . We left as soon as the sun came up . The whole time I’m thinking we are close to the harbor this should be nice but boy was I wrong . False advertisement at its best with this hotel !!!!!
