Having had several holidays cancelled due to Covid we took the plunge and rebooked Skiathos as it seemed a safe bet compared to some of the other more popular islands
We weren’t disappointed and we were enchanted by this beautiful island which gave us a little taste of normality during these anything but normal times
The accommodation is basic - as was expected from reading the reviews and yes it is a very steep climb which kept us all fit
However the pool area is fabulous and its panoramic views of the bay are simply breathtaking
We are a family if 4 (2 adults with 2 adult children) and we had 2 adjacent studio apartments with lovely balconies over looking pretty gardens where we sat and had pre dinner drinks every evening
The town with all its shops bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance as was the beautiful Megali Ammos beach
Maria, Dimitrius and Sam were outstanding hosts - nothing was too much trouble
We would definitely like to return in the future

We booked this pretty much last min and it was the last week of the season, so there was very little choice left! However, we were not disappointed at all. Although it's only classed as 3*, our room was pretty basic, but then it was typical Greek standard but it had the most amazing sea view, ample sized balcony and was spotlessly clean. The pool area was spotless, with plenty of sunbeds and the best sea and town views. Fab little bar with a lovely atmosphere serving cocktails and a wide menu both at lunch time and evening.
Considering it was October, we had temperatures between 25 - 30c every day - so no complaints from us.
Although we had a jeep for the week to explore the island, there is a really good bus service which drops you at various beaches along the coast. Our favourite was Koukinaries. As previous reviewers have mentioned, this hotel is up a pretty steep hill, so wouldn't suit everyone, but it's still only a 10 - 15 mins walk into the Port.
There are tons of places to eat in town - the Seagull at Old Port was one of our favourites for cocktails, just watching the world go by, and then head to the back streets for some amazing restaurants. One of our favs being Mesogia Taverna - in the same family for years. Loving setting and great food. I'm pretty sure we will back at some stage to this beautiful island.

These villas are fabulous! We were originally going to Portugal but had to rearrange our holiday at the last minute due to Covid and this is where Jet2 offered to us. We were apprehensive initially as it is at the top of a steep hill and only has 3 stars and the hotel we had booked in Portugal has 4 stars, but we absolutely loved it. The staff, in particular Sam & Maria, were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. The bed was a little hard for me & my husband but Maria was quick to arrange a soft topper for us and even the cleaner was super concerned that we were happy with the adjustment. The views from the bar and pool area are spectacular and I believe that every room has some sort of sea view. The whole place is spotless, the food that the bar produces is absolutely delicious and the ambience around the bar/pool area is very relaxing. I can't speak too highly of these villas. The only point I will make is that there are 2 blocks, one of which is the original building and the other is a totally new block above the pool/bar area. There's no denying that the new block is absolutely beautiful but there's nothing wrong with the old block other than it is a little tired and the plumbing is typically Greek. If you book through Jet2 Holidays you are allocated the old block, if you want to book the new block you will need to book direct with the hotel. We would definitely go back to these villas in Skiathos Town if we were ever to go to Skiathos again.
A great holiday

I don’t know why some people have wrote negative reviews about this place. It was honestly great. Me and my family (four of us, me and my brother both in our mid 20s) stayed here for one week in September. The Covid measures are great despite there being no cases on the island. I agree that the hill up to the hotel would be difficult for older people or people with mobility issues however I did still see much older people making the climb. Good to work off the food and alcohol, and the view from the top is worth it, best in Skiathos! The staff here really made the place! Maria on reception, dimitris on the bar and Sam on breakfast (the chef). All so friendly and welcoming, they booked a taverna for us on our first night as we were arriving late. The pool area is fantastic, always clean and sun loungers available. The rooms are basic but fine, you’re only sleeping in them! We were given extra pillows when we asked. The only thing I would recommend would be to install a holder for the shower heads in the older rooms. We had to hold the shower head whilst in the shower and it wouldn’t cost much to fix them onto the walls. Apart from that, we loved our stay!! Thank you so much

We were so relieved to ' get out of Dodge ' and arrive in this lovely little family run hotel with fantastic views - a great base on the island . The staff were so helpful and friendly and coudnt do enough for us. The hotel was quiet ...perfect for us . The walk up the hill is a real challenge depending on your age but could help sober you up or loose some calories at least.
Limited menu but good food if you choose to eat in. Be aware of extra charge for AC - why wouldnt you want that included in the price -in Greece in August !
We really loved it 7-10 days ia about right ...no longer.
