Very bad experience
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and we can for sure say it was the worst hotel experience we ever had and we travel a lot. The room in which we stayed was a disaster, claustrophobic, with no air at all (window is facing completely closed inner space from all sides and from above, so no fresh air coming at all) so we couldn’t sleep. And not to mention that Air conditioning was not working properly! We wanted to change room immediately but they didn’t have available rooms!! Bathroom was dirty, towels very poor quality for 4*hotel, shower was leaking. No international TV programs at all. Brekfast very poor, below average, no fruit at all, everything seemed very old, for coffee and orange juice you need to pay extra. Staff not helpful, nobody speaks english, staff at front office speaks english very poor. Location is only advantage of this hotel, but there are other hotels nearby, so no need to book this hotel.
Although the place is well located, very close to Istiklal, very convenient, the hotel itself disappointed me in a way. It is a little bit old, the breakfast is not fresh, everything we ate seemed warmed again from yesterday and we stayed on the second floor which was very very noisy due to all the people coming and going from the night bars.
This year in our holiday we went to Istanbul, we prefer this hotel location as well as the comfortable rooms the only problem is the elevator it’s constantly stops working, but overall the hotel is very good there is a junction restaurant in the lobby with a very good ambience specially Metin Ali cakir he was very nice. We were pleased with the great smiles and advice. We had a nice evening and we are thinking to come next year.
A budget hotel for SOLO
I arrived early (by 9 am). The receptionist told me that checkin time was 2 pm and no room is now available. So I took a stride and returned in at around 10 am. The same guy told me that the room is not ready. So I sat in the reception waiting. Less than 5 minutes later and after the receptionists talked to each other in Turkish I was told that the room is ready!!!! The room is small, but has nice amenities, but was on the side of the building where you literally can shake hands with your neighbors!!! Not very clean room, more of a two or mostly three stars room. Hotel location is good. Close to many things in the Taxim area and to means of transportation. Elevators were not working most of the time, so we had to use the staff elevator. Turkish people are generally not service oriented, does not know how to smile or to welcome guests and barely speaks English, if at all. I do not recommend this hotel for families at all, a single person on budget can go-by. Breakfast is poor and service, again, is horrendous!!. Earlier, I stayed at Ramada Taxim, which is a Four star hotel, but the service was much much better and the hotel manager was very friendly, just to compare. In conclusion, this hotel is more of a three stars hotel at best. And, I repeat, for SOLO visitors.
Good location, great staff, small but very well arranged rooms. A good impression of this hotel, which you can see that used a great design to upgrade an old building, not so spacious, capable to offer you everything that a normal new hotel room has to. If you don’t have high expectations, and if you’re looking for a short stay, it’s a good place to look for. It’s for sure not dissapointing! Congrats!
