HDB is a 10-15 minute walk from the train station which itself is a 7 minute journey from the airport station. We booked a 2 night stay before moving on to Cadiz. The reviews weren’t great but we thought if we had a terrace room, at least we’d have outdoor space & views to enjoy. The hotel was better quality than expected, it was clean & modern inside & nicely decorated. The bedroom was bright & airy with good aircon, a fridge and walk in shower. The terrace was spacious but there were no cushions for the chairs or loungers. The view was blocked by a trellis surround and there was a walkway for maintenance around the edge … it was a surprise to see a chap walking around the perimeter of the terrace, 3 floors up. We had intended to use nearby cafes for breakfast so hadn’t booked this at the hotel. However, the immediate area around the hotel (& nearby indoor market) is a bit run down so we ate breakfast at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised considering other reviews … the coffee was great and there was sufficient choice of continental style options to make the €8.50 worthwhile. The surrounding area is not as vibrant as I remember it to be in 2019 but the main Plaza and good range of bars are only a short walk away. The Equestrian School is also walkable in about 20-25 mins with Quince (almost opposite the horses) highly recommended for food & drinks. Tala Bar on the pedestrian road (Calle Lanceria) down to the Plaza Arenal was our favourite place for tapas & Sherry. I’d stay at HDB again if in Jerez and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the city centre.

Great value, and good location

I spent three nights in the Dona Blanca, and was very pleased -- though travelling solo, I was given a large, clean, and modern room, even with a small balcony, and all at a very reasonable rate (though I should point out that this was early December). Though located in a semi-modern commercial area (as are several of the more popular mid-range hotels), it's just a few minutes' walk into the historic quarter. And, as many reviewers have pointed out already, it's just about a 15 minute walk, more or less, in the opposite direction to the train and bus stations. The buffet breakfast costs extra, but probably not a lot more that what a skimpier breakfast would cost in a near-by café. All in all I thought it was a fine place to stay, and I'm sure I'll stay there again if I should return to Jerez. (I might add that I thought Jerez to be a great city to visit, though this isn't the place to go into detail.)

Dona Blanca hotel .Mixed experience .

We arrived by train and had a straight forward ten minute walk to the hotel .The hotel has easy access to the bars due to its central location . After reading all the hotel reviews which are mixed ,I felt the same about this hotel .On one hand we had soft towels ,comfortable beds and bed linen . However ,in room 304 ,the en-suite needed upgrading .The shower flooded the floor ,the floor tiles could do with an extra clean and no vent for the steam to escape . Annoying .303 came in at 12.30 pm showering and washing ,disturbing our sleep .I would’ve been more noisy giving her a non sarcastic view ! Breakfast gave you the choice of a continental one but my hubby squeezed the fresh oranges and was taught how to use the coffee machine !They did have hot milk to add to the coffee though which was a bonus .Unsure of the quality of the products .The kiwi fruit was mushy :some of the crockery from Ikea was chipped . Workman busied themselves so every morning it was noisy .The reception had a doorway into the local cafe which was always busy . One member of staff sorted the breakfast and cleaned the reception toilets . I know as I sat and ate my breakfast and watched her . I even turned on the lamps one morning to give some atmosphere . We were the only ones who had an early breakfast too . So ,as I said ,a mixed feeling about the hotel but we enjoyed Jerez and a one day visit to Cádiz .

This hotel is 10/12 minutes walk from the train station and located very close to a supermarket, a couple of sherry bars, one which has live Flamenco dancing and a 5 minute walk to an area with several restaurants, shops and bars. We had an excellent large room with its own private terrace and shower at a very reasonable rate. It was very quiet, comfortable & clean. We would go back.
