NIGHTMARE. STAY AWAY
It was on of the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Manager and his employees are seriously unprofessional and in my option their acts are just ridiculous. We had to flee the country due to the coronavirus outbreak and even though we payed for the 7 days, we were in hotel just for 2. They didn’t want to return any money and treated us in a really humiliating way. Their excuses were just wrong and plain false. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay at those thieves hotel. Moreover, the walls in the hotel are really thin and it’s impossible to sleep without the earplugs. I’m not even exaggerating. It’s really impossible to sleep there. Stay away from this piece of S “hotel”.
AN OK hotel in great location
The location is brilliant. The rooms are a bit sad - in a sense they need some redecorating and perhaps some new duvets. Our extra duvet seemed a little mouldy. The room was super cold when we arrived but zircon worked and it got warmer. The bathroom is rather simple but water is hot. The quality of sleep was good, the bed was comfortable - I am just not sure why there was a massive fridge in the room. Wifi worked well and breakfast spread was good. The staff members were lovely during check in and on the second day as well. However, during check out we were misinformed rather grossly. The person said sheruts did not work on Saturdays and that we would come back not fining a sherut to tell him he was right. A little cheeky for my liking and besides the hotel should have accurate information. Sheruts do work during Shabat - they are a wee bit more expensive but they do work and no prior reservation was necessary. Also, I suggest the hotel staff reinforce themselves where sheruts leave from on Saturdays as information given was also incorrect. This was one person though, the other members of staff were very helpful.
One night stay at Zion
The location of the hotel is spot on! It is 30-40 mins away from the Old City of Jerusalem. And it is in the heart of the New town city center. LOads of shops and restaurants around. Breakfast was included in the price and it was actually great. They had various dishes. Coffee and tea are available at all times at the reception/lobby area. Sadly, the Wi-fi was only available in the lobby. The room was nothing special, just a classic hotel room. I would recommend choosing one with a balcony... though!!
Good Location but the rest is pretty bad
The only positive side of the hotel is the location, which is very central. For the rest it is really not acceptable. Rooms are very old and the bathroom is really below any minimum standard. If you have a first floor room, it is very noisy and very difficult to sleep as well.
Staff are uncourteous and impolite
There is no elevator I had to climb 3 flights of stairways to reach the reception. When I requested help with luggage I was curtly told "its self service"... Then after over 2 hours of waiting a room was prepared another 3 floors up..Another 3 flights of stairs(all together 6 flights of stairways)when I requested for another floor I was refused..Atleast the man at the desk agreed to carry one medium weight bag.I had to wait in corridor until they yet fixed the room though they said it was ready and when I entered the "prepared room" there was a fly in the room... So pesticide was sprayed to remove it..Which I believe is not healthy for any guest to inhale. In comparison to other hotels I have stayed, I must say that my initial impressions have been very poor. But I could see that the hotel is very centrally located... It will be good if the management gives a thorough training to employees on how they must treat guests.I believe they spoke in Arabic with each other so they may be not your usual staff; as it is Yom kippur; but other than a lady who did housekeeping I cant find the others to be friendly at all... I am yet to discover the facilities you afford.I wish you well with a better choice of staff. 1st impressions matter much in the hospitality industry.Entrance and welcome and customer care is key if you choose to attract a good clientele and good report. Shana Tova!!
