While we were enjoying the Moroccan ritual someone opened my locker and stole cash from my wallet.

Reviewed 1 august, 2022

I went there for a Moroccan ritual for me and my husband. While we were enjoying the ritual someone opened my locker and stole cash from my wallet. I talked to the manager Manuel and he told me that the hotel is not responsible for lost items. Obviously my money was not a lost item, but still instead of apologizing, at the very least, he blamed me for losing my money. Terrible management.

Great Hotel

We had great staff, who could speak Spanish and English. The grounds were amazing. The beds were super comfortable. The restaurant was great with excellent food and lots of variety. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Enchanted Hotel

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. It's definitely not cheap for the area, but it's so beautifully appointed and charming that it was worth the extra expense. Staff is helpful and always available, which was appreciated. The rooms were beautiful, we did a 'girls trip' so the three of us shared a mountain-view room. The pool area is beyond gorgeous, with views of the lake. We did spa treatments just about every day; I loved the spa menu and the thermal water ritual room is amazing. This is definitely a hotel built with romance in mind, so I'd definitely recommend it more for couples, though we did enjoy it as a girls trip as well because it was so beautiful and peaceful. There are no children allowed and they don't have any 2-bed room options (we did a king bed and a rollaway bed for the 3 of us and it worked perfectly). It was a short drive into town from the hotel (we had a rental car). One big thing to keep in mind: no WiFi! Their reasoning is that it's a resting hotel, but still, WiFi is kind of a must these days. Anyway, overall it was just a really lovely, luxurious, magical stay overall! I hope I can come back sometime.

Good, but not perfect

Reviewed 17 march, 2018

We stayed at El Chante Spa and Hotel in October of 2017, we took a 3 week vacation to the mountains of Mexico and Lake Chapala, the Hotel is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly and helpful, we had a room on the 4th floor, but we didn't have a nice view. Thank God they have a elevator, the swimming pool is absolutely beautiful, with a Hot tub too, with plenty of hammocks to take a nap in. The hot water is a issue, it takes forever to get to your room. I am a BIG GUY and they actually had a shower rube that fit me. Now the restaurant needs help, the food is ridiculously expensive, just a Hamburger was like $160 mxp The Burger bun was black, with very tough meat that is frozen, the French Fries were hard and not cooked correctly. Breakfast comes with the price of room, and that was ok. We were there 4 nights, and only eat lunch one time at the Hotel, if they get a better Chef and lower the prices, we would have eaten there more often, this would keep them from Freezing everything. Would we go back to El Chante Spa Hotel, absolutely NO! Chef Bob Lissandrello Yucatan Food Critic

Never again

Reviewed 8 november, 2017

This property, although beautiful, staff does not speak any english, the food menu is limited, dogs are barking all night long and roosters to wake you up at 5am. The property is too far from main city. You have to cab it or rent a car. The hotel is in a very sketchy area. When we arrived I didn't want to get out of the cab. Unless you get the balcony room, which I thought we were getting??? room was very small not even room for a table and our window looked out at the hallway. Couldn't even open the curtains unless I wanted everyone else to see into our room. Would never go back.
