Rustic Australian gem! So relaxing, beautiful hosts.

Thank you so Much Jack! Beautiful property, so relaxing. You have a rustic Australian gem. We loved our stay and your hospitality was amazing. Feeding the birds and possums was very nice. You work so hard - it will be an even more beautiful spot in the coming years. I loved hearing about your plans for the place. Property was clean, warm and bed was comfy. Felt like we were in the bush. Fireplace was very clean and so warm. There are so many places to sit and relax take in all the frogs, birds and rustling of the trees. We left so relaxed. Thank you!

Hard worn out bed very rundown property and noisy possums on tin roof all night. There has been no money spent on this property for 20 years. I paid $250 per night but I think it's worth about $80 ...

Lovely location but cabins are run down

This was our third stay at this accommodation. And, unfortunately, it was our worst experience. The position of 10 cottages is perfect. Located in the bush with plenty of possums nad other wildlife providing entertainment. The cottages are spread out so you have plenty of privacy. However, I would not like to stay there during the bush fire season. The decor now shows its age and needs renovating. The cabin was clean but poorly equipped with utensils. Our cabin had very old and hard mattresses which made sleeping uncomfortable. What made our stay quite uncomfortable though was an infestation of millipedes crawling everywhere, particularly in the bathroom and toilet. Not nice at all. The new owner should pay more attention to the property and ensure that visitors have something positive to remember. What is required is a TLC. Then the place will attract better rating.

Not impressed. Will not stay here again when next visiting Lakes Entrance.

Apparently toy this place changed ownership about 3 years ago. Was recommended to go there by a co worker. Beautiful area to stay BUT...... The owner was away and was unable to be contacted. A young lady that lived locally was responsible for checking people in. We (3 adult women) arrived within an hour of the 2pm check in time. The young lady greeted us and showed us to our cottage. HOWEVER we did not realise until it was time to go out for dinner a couple of hours later that we were NOT given the key to our cottage. Tried calling the office number (no mobile number) provided and kept getting the answering machine. Long story short..... we had to go for dinner without locking our cottage that had all our belongings in there. The calls were going to the on site office and no one was there. Later when we arrived back from our dinner I attempted to check the office again. Still no key and no answer to our calls. I even tried emailing the owner on the same email that the confirmation was sent. Still no response. Customer service appalling!!! Cleanliness of the cottage very wanting. We were moved to a bigger cottage as an apology fir the inconvenience of the day before. Again the cleanliness was very wanting. Only the sheets had been changed on the beds. Possums running up and down on the roof during the nights. Don’t think the place had been cleaned for mo this! On our last night had a couple come to us saying that they had been waiting over an hour to get a key to their room. They also had tried calling the office number. In the end they left the premises and DID NOT stay the night out of frustration of trying to contact management of the accommodation. As I stated at the start.....beautiful place, BUT NO CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE OWNER, Cleanliness I would give a 2 out of 10. Very poor! Unless Management of this accommodation steps up with the cleanliness and customer service I wouldn’t waste your time trying to stay there.

Run down and dirtt

We stayed in a 3 bedroom chalet, paid $1400 for 2 nights, was just enough room for 2 families, we paid extra for mattresses to put on the floor. Unfortunately the room/premises were extremely dirty, we had to wash all the dishes as they had finger prints and chips on the glassware. Still some good on the fry pans and the outside bbq was dirty. Holes in the fly wire so we all got bitten over night by many many mosquitos. There was also hair on the sheets in one of the rooms and the showers were unclean :( The outside area was full of bushes, cobwebs, mess everywhere! Would have been such a nice area to spend time on if it was properly maintained. Their dog was chained up outside our room and barked a lot. For the money we spent (including extra for extra guests) we could have stayed in much nicer accommodation, which is such a shame as we have stayed here for over 16 years, many times, but this is the first time with the new owners, who have unfortunately let this place go. So sad :(
