Our stay was great! Dinner in the Monadh restaurant was so good we decided to go back for seconds! Staff were also so lovely and helpful. I would definitely recommend for a relaxing weekend away. Oh and our room got upgraded for free!
Beautiful room and location, attentive staff

Stayed for one night in a Superior Double Room, booked as part of a series of hotel stays on a tour of Scotland. The hotel is set in the centre of a small village with few amenities other than a shop and of course plenty of walks.
First impressions were that parking was completely inadequate for the number of guests in a hotel of this size, but later discovered that there were a number of additional spaces around the back of the hotel conveniently near our room. Also a little disappointed by the long wait to check in because the only member of front desk staff at that time was engaged in a long telephone conversation and others waiting too. Having said that, they were unfailingly professional and greeted or chatted to us every time we passed, a touch that we really appreciated.
Our room on the ground floor was the best I’ve stayed in on this particular trip. More of a suite than a room, and I would have been happy to have stayed a lot longer. It was spacious and well fitted out with high quality modern furnishings - a real luxury feel. There was a small kitchen area, work desk, complimentary biscuits, dining table and chairs, and a huge king size bed. Unfortunately WiFi download speed was just 5mbps when tested, so rather disappointing.
The hotel has a fairly upmarket but casual restaurant for dinner, which was most enjoyable if rather pricey. But there isn’t a lot of choice nearby. Our host Lauren was fantastic, and seemed to develop a natural rapport with other guests too. A continental breakfast is included in the price of the rooms, with cooked options available to order at extra cost. We made do with cereal, pastries, toast and yoghurt.

This hotel definitely has the WOW factor. Booked B&B in superior room for one night and the room was amazing, by far the best we have ever had. Large bathroom with walk in shower and lovely white fluffy towels. 2 white towelling dressing gowns and slippers are hanging in wardrobe. Safe, Ironing board, iron, hairdryer and coffee machine available. We decided to eat from lunch menu which ended at 4 pm rather than have dinner in restaurant, but would advise booking dinner early as it was quite busy in the evening. Staff all very nice and happy to help with any enquiries we made about the local area. There is absolutely nothing to do in Kinloch Rannoch itself, however, unless you are a cyclist or keen walker or perhaps using it as a base for onward travel. We were only there for one night, however, so it wasn't a problem. The roads round about are very winding, but the scenery is fantastic. It is a beautiful hotel, just wish it was better situated, say nearer Pitlochry or Dunkeld.
Loved it ... 2 x 3-night stays in 3 weeks!

Having stayed for 6 nights in the last 3 weeks, I am well-placed to review Dunalastair. I was hugely impressed by the quality of the accommodation, the food but most all by the superb service from Richard and his team.
Special call-outs to David (a waiter/sommelier who could grace The Ritz); Sylvia (who knows all the best local walks and cycles like the back of her hand); Francisco ( a very welcoming presence); Judith (first rate housekeeper); Angie and Catelyn (fab waitresses); and Elise, Marina and Isabelle (warm, friendly and efficient receptionists).
Simon Kelman, Head Chef is exceptional. We loved our night In The Library with a full tasting menu and drinks flight. Tables there are highly sought after.
Kinloch Rannoch is a great base which also allowed us to make trips to Rannoch (thanks to Jurgen's taxis) and an ascent on Schiehallion.
Already giving some thought to a return!
Beautiful hotel, location and amazing staff!

We were looking for a nice relaxing break and Hotel Dunalastair didn't disappoint. We stayed for 5 nights so had plenty of time to explore the area and enjoy the comforts of the hotel. A beautiful modern boutique type hotel, everything was spotlessly clean, beds were super comfy and the lounge and courtyard had a lovely relaxing feel with chilled background music. Breakfast was absolutely superb and would definitely recommend booking the cooked breakfast option - loads of choice and we had something different every day! A special mention to Sylvia who was absolutely lovely, so friendly to chat to and she helped us with some great tips for places to visit and local routes to take on our mountain bikes. Also thanks to Marina and Isabelle on reception who did a fantastic job at making us feel very welcome. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will recommend to others visiting the area and hopefully return again in the future.
