2 night stop

We came across the Dundas Arms as they are within a group that provide a welcome focus on dog friendly rooms with a flare for making your visit with them hassle free. oved the location and thoroughly enjoyed our walks alog the canal and local countryside.

Pleasant short stay

Beautifully located pub on a river with a pretty garden. Nicely decorated rooms with comfortable beds. Dinner very acceptable and good quality breakfasts. Lots of walks in the vicinity. Pleasant local beers.

Great weekend trip from London

Reviewed 6 november, 2022

We did one overnight, travelling from London and it was perfect. Two hours by train from Paddington, train drops you almost on the doorstep, canal/stream runs around the pub/lodge/behind by the rooms, staff is friendly, food was alright, and walks along the river with my dog were great. Room prices seemed roughly inline with everywhere else in the UK, though perhaps a bit cheaper to get a "canal side" room.

Threatening atmosphere

Reviewed 31 october, 2022

After buying a glass of wine for £13, which was shocking enough, hubby and I had to endure ; a soulless, echoey bar, very drunk and repeatedly foul mouthed fellow customers, overhearing racist comments to one costumer "youre playing the race card"and sexist comments about another "hiding something in her knickers." We felt intimidate by the increasing tensions from VERY drunk poeple so we left as soon as we could.

A one night stop over on the spur of the moment

Reviewed 24 october, 2022

We only booked this at the lunchtime before arriving later that afternoon. Greeted by very friendly staff we were given one of the ground floor rooms overlooking the mill stream. This was very comfortable, quiet and well equipped. Our dog was very welcome in the bar and restaurant and the food was excellent. Very reasonably priced all round - this place is hard to fault.
