Nice hotel, but...
The time we spent at this hotel was not entirely dissatisfying. I must compliment them on the kindness of the staff and the nicely renovated facility. What did disturb me was the rate charged on my room. I booked the reservation online under the government employee discount. I am a government employee and have never had a problem using this discount. Upon arrival the desk staff asked if my reason for the government rate was directed related to something in Klamath Falls to which I replied no. The desk clerk then said I did not qualify for the discount and was charged a standard room rate. She stated that corporate IHG was scrutinizing the government discount more than in the past. Ironically, my next destination included a stay at another IHG property which I had no problem obtaining the government rate.
Best inexpensive hotel room I've ever had
I wanted to take the time out of my trip to write up a quick review of this hotel, as it really stands out from others I have stayed in. This was pretty much the best basic, inexpensive hotel stay I've ever had. They got all the basics right. The room was large enough, it was clean and comfortable, modern, and had a good quality TV, a microwave oven, and a coffee maker. There were lots of electrical outlets, and multiple USB charging ports. There was a large desk to work at. Good air conditioning on a 100+ degree August day, too. But two very small things really made my day, and put this one in the exceptional category for me. In the shower, they had a wall-mounted dispenser for liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioner. This dispenser was full of plenty of each, so that even if I had been staying for a week, there would have been enough. I hate it when hotels just give you a tiny bottle of each... I never have enough! Or worse, some hotels don't provide any at all. So, this large provision of shower products was a big hit with me. The other thing was that there was a sign in the bathroom letting me know that if I happened to forget to bring something basic like a toothbrush or tooth paste, to just contact the front desk and they would provide it for free. We'll, sure enough, I left my tooth paste at home. That sign completely eliminated any worry for me. I walked down to the front desk, and they gladly handed over a free tube of toothpaste. Those two little things, plus the fact that all the basics were right, put my stay in Klamath Falls in the exceptional category.
RENOVATION AND CONSTRUCTION RIGHT NEXT TO MY HOTEL WINDOW EARLY MORNING
Renovation (sounds like drilling) started early this morning and went continuously for two hours even though I complained about the noise. This renovation noise starts early in the morning, before breakfast. Obviously, you will not get any sleep if you come to this hotel because of the renovation and construction noise. The renovation workers are wearing ear protection headphones because their machines are so loud. Obviously, the hotel does not provide any noise protection device to hotel guests. This is a horrible, horrible, deceptive hotel. If you come here, you will not get any sleep, and you will feel harassed, annoyed, and angry all day.
Great stay and friendly staff
I checked in early for my business stay and had no problem getting my room. My room was big, clean and very comfortable. It was updated and modern and had everything I needed. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water and water pressure. There was no noise from other rooms (I was in the second floor) or from outside. The breakfast had a large variety of hot and cold items each day and the seating area was large and not crowded. The hotel staff from front desk, to cleaning staff, to the breakfast staff were all super polite and very attentive. I’d be happy to stay here again.
Nice and clean and good breakfast!
This place was nice and clean the staff were welcoming and pleasant. Our room was cleaned every day having a nice place to relax after being out and about for the day. The breakfast was cooked right and delicious and the coffee was good too. I would come again and I have.
