We go there about once per year-great location-walking distance to the village. They have a great in-house restaurant with an interesting menu, and free breakfast in the morning. Right across the street from Roadhouse Pizza (the best pizza in town, for sure)
The rating is as follows: 3 stars ⭐️ room and breakfast/ 4 stars ⭐️ property management/ 5 stars ⭐️ location, restaurant and service. I would come back and hope that they make just a few improvements like having a coffee maker/ Keurig in the room and some newer furniture in the living room. The bathroom and towels were very nice and clean, had a minor issue with the sheets, but all in all very decent. I especially appreciated the upgrade during the week, so for that I bumped up the overall rating * to 4 ⭐️
I've always passed this place and wanted to see what it was like. It's quaint. Maybe a little bit pricey for its age but we'd definitely stay again. The rooms are aged but comfortable. The breakfast dining area was nice and the meal was perfect. Didn't visit the bar but that looked nice. Didn't use the bathtub jacuzzi but that looked fun!
Outdated, depressing, overpriced
Skip this and head to an Airbnb....for $280 all in for a single night I expected more than crusty shampoo dispenser, old linens, yellowed towels, Broken bathroom tiles, plastic cups (ugh!!) And no coffee or tea, etc. Looks like it was renovated poorly in the 1980s and left to rot. Breakfast was serviceable but pretty basic. Furniture needs to be thrown out wholesale. Just has the vibe of a rundown roadside motel with nasty little soaps, chunky pillows. A single plastic chair outside. Clearly abandoned by management/owners and staff morale seems low. Finishing touch for me was STYROFOAM cups at breakfast when there were racks of clean glasswear and ceramic mugs right at the bar. Ugh!!! Go elsewhere!!!!!!!
Not the romantic cabin we were hoping for!
Well, we just checked out early, after 1 night, even though we paid for 2. And the woman at reception didn’t even ask if everything was ok or if we enjoyed our stay. Not really surprising, since we were unimpressed with her lack of welcome yesterday either. My husband said she was like a robot going through the routine. Anyway, we came up to Lake Arrowhead on a rare romantic weekend away without the kids. Always thought it would be fun to stay in a cabin up in the mountains! We reserved an individual jacuzzi cabin, rather than staying in the main inn. I thought it would be a relaxing weekend and we could enjoy some time sitting out on our little deck in the woods, have a coffee, maybe read a book, wander down to the village and walk around... just a quiet, relaxing time away. Well, as soon as we saw the location of our cabin (#22), overlooking the 7-Eleven parking lot, I was worried. Complete lack of privacy, not woodsy or appealing in any way. Just a couple of white plastic chairs and a teeny dilapidated old table. Dirty, spider webs, etc. I knew immediately we would not be spending any time out there. Then we walk into the cabin, and we were equally disappointed again. Everything was very old-looking, and there was not a single place to sit and relax in the room either. There were 2 wooden dining-type chairs. Only other place to sit was on the bed. The bathroom was very small, with only a pedestal sink (no counter-top whatsoever) So it was tricky to get ready, with hardly any place to put toiletries or makeup or anything. The jacuzzi tub in the bathroom doubled as the shower, but the shower curtain was hung so high up near the ceiling it hung slight above the top of the tub, letting water spray out onto the floor. Not sure why they would go that. The tub also had a very old faucet that was discolored, with poorly done messy sealant all around it. Very ugly. There were also 2 large spiders in the bathroom. The carpeted floor in the room had dips in it as you walk certain places as of there were holes in the floor underneath. Otherwise, the inside of the room seemed sufficiently clean. Twice during the night a car alarm went off and woke us up. (Again, our cabin was directly against the 7-Eleven parking lot.) And in the morning there was a big pile of vomit right next to our car. My husband had to back out to let me in, because there was no way to get into the car without stepping in it. Classy place! I cannot believe we spent over $400 for this romantic weekend in a mountain cabin. We are currently driving back home and just eating the amount we paid for the second night, because our own house is way preferable to this. I had planned to very nicely let them know why we were leaving early and that we were so disappointed in our stay. But since it was the same lady from when we checked in, I knew she wouldn’t even care. I said we were supposed to have the room tonight also but we decided to check out early. And all she said was “Ok, thanks for letting me know.” She seriously did not even ask if we enjoyed our stay! And she wasn’t busy. There was no one else waiting behind me or anything. She just makes it apparent that she couldn’t care less. We rarely get a weekend getaway alone and I’m so disappointed this didn’t work out. But we honestly would just rather be home at this point. At least we have a couch to sit on there! I’m very surprised this place has so many good reviews. We generally aren’t very hard to please. Maybe we just had the worst cabin or something. But we certainly won’t be trying it again.
