I have go start by saying that for those who had to file police reports for stolen items I'm sorry, as I'm sure that employee(s), have since been let go. Our stay, both times, have been nothing but awesome and as soon as the resort opens back up, we plan on booking a week long trip. Every employee was polite, respectful and willing to help at every turn. This resort has become our families go to Disney resort. We still have our favorite; Animal Kingdom and Polinisian resort, however, due to both of those being so expensive, Port Orleans resort is and remains our go to resort.
Worst experience & treatment ever

We stayed here for our trip to nationals. During our visit 7 of our people had to file police reports for items that were stolen from our rooms. These items included money, prescriptions, personal information, and misc items. Cleaning staff would come into the rooms when do not disturb signs were up and people were in the rooms still sleeping. They would go through all of our items and move them around including closed suitcases. The compensation was pizza by the pool & free parking for 1 vehicle for the stay. Now they have listed the parking for collections as not paid when they stated it was taken care of at check out. Our stay was in March and we are just being told of this in November and they will not remove the charges now. I do not recommend staying at a place that treats their customers like this and allows cleaning staff to get away with this. If you look at other reviews, which we did after, this has happened many times in the past. The police have found nothing and have not contacted us since either so that was a waste as well.

So this resort was excellent. We stayed 7 nights, and I have to say really enjoyed it. Used the bus to resorts easy, wasn't to busy that time of year. Took water taxi to Disney springs. We were in alligator bayou. Clean room, no issues. Friendly staff.
Only issues I had was first the check in took so long, I mean there is no need of that. Second this resort is spread out and although it's great, may be hard on those with mobility issues.
Last I have to give a shout out to Boat Wright's Dining Hall, great food and service. Wish I could remember our servers name, he was awesome - took to long review lol.
Had a great time

We did this trip with two 13-year-old girls in tow, the resort was very good, plenty of pools to cool off in at the end of a busy day. The food is as expected for the USA but plenty of options, especially if you dine in the various parks.
Perfect resort for us

I had visited Riverside on a previous trip as a child and enjoyed it, so it was an easy choice for a stop on our Honeymoon when we were looking for a moderate resort. We opted for a Preferred room, which was well worth it for the location for the minor increase in cost in our opinion - the food court was near and we were equidistant to the south and west bus stops, meaning we could get on and off first when travelling to and from the parks. The room itself was nice enough, though nothing particularly special. We didn’t end up using any of the pools as we were too busy, but we did use one of the washing facilities nearby which was very convenient. It was well located between the parks meaning no bus journey was ever that long, and the resort is large enough that there’s a steady stream of transport options running, without us feeling lost in the grounds since our room was well located. The food court is good, though if you have time it’s definitely worth a stroll down to the neighbouring French Quarter to try out theirs as well. Having stayed at both value (All Stars) and deluxe (Animal Kingdom Lodge) resorts before, I would strongly recommend Port Orleans Riverside if you plan on being in the parks every day but want an elevated experience with a nicer setting and theming.
