Wonderful get away

Reviewed 27 august, 2022

Wonderful little Inn in the heart of Lanesboro. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. Our room was comfortable and cozy with everything we needed. We were impressed with how clean it was. The flower garden and outdoor seating was the perfect place to relax in the evening. We will return.

The place to be in Lanesboro!

Reviewed 24 march, 2022

This is a delightful, down-home inn - just the right amount of the old and the new, with everything in tiptop shape. It also syncs up wonderfully with the inviting Lanesboro landscape, with its outdoor patios and decks, edged with attractive flora. I have been here alone and with an immediate family of 16. Each time it served as the ideal space. Unlike most well-seasoned places, the bathrooms are exceedingly spacious. The rooms, also, are ample and are appropriately appointed - just enough items for need and enjoyment while leaving space to move about comfortably. The Inn is situated in an model area of town - close to everything by foot but distanced enough to not feel encumbered upon. Considering all the above, it goes without saying (tho I would be remiss in doing so), that the proprietors, Carrie and Rich, will respectively and generously be there for you.

New Owners are terrific!

Came to Lanesboro to ride the Root River Trail. The motel is immaculate, the bed very comfortable and the owners are very accommodating. A special plus is the lovely garden with table outside to have your pre dinner gathering or morning coffee.

Offensive owner, passable room

Reviewed 1 october, 2020

Stayed in the Java Room for a September weekend. The room smells faintly of smoke and stale dreams. Definitely a motel vibe. Turned the heat on when we got there an it immediately started smoking, setting off the fire alarm. Bed and bathroom were decent, but keep in mind you can hear everything through the walls of this place. It's a passable experience if you like Lanesboro, but I'm guessing this place would be at the bottom of most lists. In a word: charmless. What gives it a nudge into one-star territory is the absolute offensiveness of the owner. We brought down my gf's dog at the 11th hour as I knew this place was pet friendly. Figured we'd have time to register the pet on Saturday - I actually thought this was a B&B given the photos (old house, rooms with names, other such places in Lanesboro) so I assumed we'd be meeting the owner and interacting but this woman has clear office hours up and until 5pm and calls it a day, meaning we didn't see her on Friday evening when we arrived. By means of greeting us Saturday morning, she accosts my gf and tells her her dog is unregistered in a shrill voice. I went outside to be told that I was trying to pull a fast one and that I needed to pay a $100 penalty immediately. All of this in a public area. I guess this is her way of introducing herself to her guests. If not for the level headedness of my gf in stabilizing the situation, this would've blown up and our whole weekend would've been spoiled. What's truly funny is there was another set of guests who brought their dog with them at the 11th hour as well and she did much the same thing to them. Because of this rude welcome, we didn't even get a chance to report the near electrical fire in the room as we only wanted to avoid this person for the rest of the weekend. If you're emotionally resilient and can put up with the other stuff, you might want to consider this place. We won't be back and are making a point to tell folks to avoid this place if possible. Lanesboro is quite nice, though! Can't wait to try a different place to stay next year.

The owner needs to work on her customer service skills

Reviewed 22 september, 2020

I’ve has a reservation since July for Oct 1st and 2nd 2020. I called a couple days ago to ensure I had my dog on the reservations. While going over the pet fee, the owner quoted me $35/night. I stated her website showed $25/night and she said, we changed it yesterday. I then told her that the nightly price on the website was $40 less than what I was charged, and she said the receipt is right, the website is wrong. I said, you should really update the website, you are misrepresenting your fees, providing conflicting data to customers. She said it was all in my interpretation?? She asked me if I wanted to cancel. I said no…I am staying in less than 2 weeks; I do not want to cancel. I just want to be provided with accurate information. She asked me again if I want to cancel??? She then went over my nightly rates and misquoted me again. I corrected her, said my rate for Thursday was $125, she said wow you got a great deal the rate is now 145. And asked me again if I want to cancel. Who does this? I really felt like she didn’t want my business. I have been to Lanesboro many times, and I have never felt like this before. The customer service and people of Lanesboro are wonderful. But not this time. The next day I received a cancellation notice from the owner. With an apology stating she was working with her web master to keep the website current and to prevent future frustration like I had been through??? Again, who does this? She cancelled my reservation less than 2 weeks before my stay with an apology. With so many other fantastic places to stay in Lanesboro, thinking you may want to seek another option.
