A good place to stay
We stayed mid March in the Bellevue Aquarius Hotel. On arrival we headed straight to reception to check in. We were processed swifty but were early so we left our luggage at reception and hit the pool. Decked out in questionable swimwear lads were keen to see what the all inclusive wristbands entitled them to.. Bar area was grand although was only ever staffed by one person. The barman definitely hid in behind and kept you waiting if he knew you were all inclusive. The barman was also a bit suspicious that drinks were being ordered to lads who were on the mooch without wristbands. Overall the group found it a bit stressful getting drinks at the bar. Amstel was the beer on tap. The cocktail menu was pretty extensive, however cocktails came out of a slush puppy machine in small plastic glasses. Still though they went down easy and everyone was happy. Lads sided with lanzarotes over the pina coladas. Sex on the beach also gets an honourable mention. Pool area was very nice. The Lifeguard was right to put a few lads in their place for diving in. 'No diving and don't sit on the wall', the only two rules that were enforced. Pool had a few resident ducks that also liked a little splash about. Rooms were fine and tidy. Cleaned most mornings with towels changed. Television subscription could be bought at reception but you'd be mad to pay for the channels on offer. Breakfast ran from 8-10am each morning. This was the only meal the group availed of. Either Boiled/scrambled or fried eggs each morning. Bacon wasn't anything to write home about. Good selection of other breakfast items. Avoid the cocktail sausages. Nice juices and coffees. Lots of bread available too. Cheap and cheerful. Breakfast seemed to be the busiest meal of the day. In the evenings we ate in the surrounding restaurants, so I've no real idea what the dinners were like. Few of the lads noted it was a bit of a kung fu buffet setup. You'll get a great meal in Sassis around the corner at a fair price. One of the group said to me that he thought that meal was the steal of the holiday! Overall it was comfortable stay and we had very little complaints. I would definitely recommend it to others. We came to conclusion that it was good enough for a few nights away, but you probably wouldn't be bringing the missus. Check out was at 12 and this was strickly enforced! There's also an express check out service available that will show up at your door if you're running a few minutes over..
Great 4 day break
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a last minute 4 night break. For the price we paid we were really happy with everything! The room was much nicer than photos we had previously seen and really clean which was the opposite to what we read before arriving. The view from our room was perfect, which is exactly what was needed for some winter sun! Nice atmosphere around the pool and nice staff. The location was perfect in the old town an £17 euro in a taxi from the airport. The beds were slightly squeaky and springy and there was lots of steps to climb but can’t complain for a cheap 4 night stay! Thanks again!
Great Place for the money
For the price we paid we really can not grumble. A party of 6 ladies, all inclusive. We went to get some rest in the sun and thats what we got. The food was great, the key is to get there early for the fresh service. The rooms are dated and basic, but they are clean! Located perfectly, short journey from the airport and a lovely walk along the harbor is on the door step with lovely cafes and restaurants if you need them. For what we paid we all said we'd definitely return!
Excellent value for money
My husband and I have just returned from a month's stay here. We had a fabulous time - OK the hotel does need a touch of paint here and there but for what we paid we thought it was really good value for money. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed and was cleaned regularly, the staff are all outstanding (especially in the bar/restaurant and the lovely lady in Reception), the pool is huge and the lifeguard extremely vigilant (the pool was cold but we managed to swim every day), the location is ideal as it is easy walking to the harbour and the shops (there are some hills but they are manageable). The complex is basic and there are lots of steps but this didn't stop us having a good time. We went on an all inclusive basis and although there is not a huge variety of food what was provided was always hot and we always found something to eat. Entertainment is not the best but most of the local bars had entertainment if you wanted it. We will definitely return and next year we are planning to stay for at least six weeks. At the price we paid who wouldn't want to escape the terrible British winter for a comfortable stay in the sun?
It's old but they are doing improvements all the time. We met people who have been returning for 14/15 years. It's clean, the staff are great. Downside, no lifts, loads of stairs. Saying that we were there for a month and loved it.
