Poor quality for a Marriott, terrible for JW
I still can’t figure out why Mr. Marriott let’s his name stay on this hotel. The rooms are run down, we had large water stains on our desk. The shower leaks so you have a constant trickle of cold water on your head during showers. The old style TV. But the staff is worse, our check in was a mess as this guy didn’t care a bit. The worst experience was when we came back last night, the valet was MIA, as it was freezing and we had small kids with us we tried to leave the keys with the front desk, she had a complete meltdown screaming that she can’t take the keys. She offered zero help and was hugely offensive. I have over 800 Marriott nights and have never seen anything like it.
A bit tired, not the luxury JW you’d expect
Having been to several international JW and the LA Live JW, this one is subpar. It almost felt like an independently run hote but just franchise the name. Room and building is old, don’t have the luxury feel. It’s attached to a casino that’s off strip style and pretty packed during COVID, does not seem to have crowd control. However most people wear masks and your temperature is checked at some entrance. Gym is open but no reservation is needed. Mask is not mandated in the gym so you would feel pretty unsafe when it gets crowded. Would not recommend. Will try out element if staying in the summerlin next time.

This is a great hotel! Even with COVID still very good. Staff working hard. Great rates! Casino is great golf on site. Restos not all open but those that are are very good. Rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. We enjoy this place and will continue to return.

We were in town because we had a death in the family. The staff especially Matt at reception were so wonderful to us. The property was great and even with all the covid restrictions we still felt comfortable and enjoyed all the amenities.
Beautiful location away from the hustle and bustle of Vegas
During covid you can never be too careful with choosing the right hotel. I had a free night with Bonvoy that was due to expire by the end of this year so I booked a stay with JW the day after Thanksgiving. Pre-Covid, I'm sure this place would be packed with guests. Las Vegas was a ghost town as was this hotel. This was a good thing for us lol. We didn't want to be surround by too many people during covid. Upon entering the hotel, we were greeted by one of the staff members and checked in fairly quick. JOHN at the front desk that evening was so patient and helpful. I'm very sensitive to noise so I asked if he can put us in a room without adjacent neighbors. He changed the room for us immediately! He put us in a nice, quiet room facing the pool/waterfalls in the Palms Tower. Self parking right outside the Palms tower was a plus too! I slept like a baby. Thank you John! The room is very clean and beautiful. Style is more sophisticated as you would expect from a JW. Nice 2 sink bathroom with a tub, separate shower and separate toilet. Due to Covid, some restaurants are still closed but there are plenty of take out options in Las vegas. Everyone was wearing masks and practicing safe social distancing. Hand sanitizers everywhere, even in room. Would definitely stay here again!
