Just no peace

Reviewed 11 september, 2022

It’s a beautiful resort In A cove with a huge yacht club on one side and a restaurant / party bar on the other. The party bar has a nightly band that plays plays until 1:00 am Insanely loud there is NO sleeping in the hotel no matter what room you choose until 1:00 am. It’s really is unreasonable and most the time a country band sounds like heavy metal. We had the doors ahut and curtains drawn. It’s still like being in the middle of the worst concert.

Exceeds Expectations

I had been fortunate enough in January to have had this hotel refund my deposit after being hit and totaled in Arkansas on our way to the hotel. I vowed to come back and this time stayed two nights. I also wanted to see if any of the horrible one star reviews given by other TA reviewers had any validity. It did not. I had also noticed on many of these bad reviews that the reviewers had one review only or maybe just a few. This indicates a deliberate attempt, in my opinion, to sabotage this property. They dropped from #1 to #4 following these. Since then the reviews have been mostly positive. Could it have improved THAT much since those negative reviews were posted? I have also three times flagged some for TA to look at but they have not. I stayed two nights in a corner suite and it was awesome. The suite was more like an apartment as the living room area had a large sofa along with a bar and bar stools. The kitchen had a range, refrigerator, and even a dishwasher. There also was a safe in one of the three closets in the hallway by the bathroom. The bedroom was nice and had a great water view. The suite was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was nice with a rear jet that could be used as well, if desired. There was free parking in a secure lot. The area is great as the hotel is the last business before the end of the road on this peninsula. I was able to walk to the end and back twice without cars zooming by. There was always two staff members at the desk and they were very friendly and helpful. There is a walkway to H. Toad’s Restaurant which is also a nice touch. H, Toad’s also has a bandstand down at ground level and has live music every weekend. They also have a second floor for private events. Wll thought out. There is a large boutique across from the desk and a spa a little way down the hallway. Since check in is on the fourth floor (even with the parking lot), there is an elevator to go to the first floor where there is a workout room and access to the pool area. I had a very relaxing stay, which is sorely needed. I saw signs all over the area about a 2.5% fee to use credit cards but my final bill did not show any charge. I feel that most likely 95% of guests use plastic and the fees should just be built into the cost, if they are not already in actuality. The one issue I had, which is not the hotel’s fault, was the bar across the lake (Shady Gators) blasting out loud obnoxious music until 1:30 AM! The guest who have lakeview rooms are likely unable to get to sleep until they finally end the noise. I ws told the bar is allowed to do this so, here are four steps the hotel needs to do in this order. Frist, have the owner contact Shady Gators and remind them that many hotel guests go over for food an drink, so maybe some mercy should be shown. I was there at lunch myself. The second step could be to contact the local government entity about establishing a noise ordinance at least by midnight. The third thing would be to purchase white noise machines for the lakeview rooms to try to drown out the racket. The last step should be to post on the site that guests should be prepared to have their hearing impacted and should bring ear plugs, etc. I have a pair in my musical instrument bag and would have brought them, if I had known that I was to have a short night of sleep. Beautiful and Modern Resort

Reviewed 7 september, 2022

We moved here after our other reservations fell through at another resort. Camden resort is beautiful, clean, and modern. Gorgeous views of the lakefront. We ate at the restaurant on site - Horney Toad. The food was good! They do charge a 2.5% fee if you use your credit/debit card and are not paying cash. We got coffee from them in the morning, 3$ a cup which is slightly overpriced for hotel coffee. Our room was equipped with a fireplace, full kitchenette and big screen tv in both the bedroom and living room. We were more than happy with the modern, clean accommodations. We also thought the crown molding in the rooms added a nice elegant touch. Camden on the lake is a bit removed from the main ozark area so it will add an additional commute of about 10 minutes to shopping/restaurants. The only negative was that the beds were too soft for our needs. This is personal preference to each. The staff at the front desk were more than willing to help come up with a solution and we were very appreciative of their efforts. Thank you. (Jackie & Lisa - may have gotten the names wrong).

Great stay!

Staff was friendly and hotel was very clean. We had a room with a view facing Shady Gators and the main channel. Room had a large couch, bar, small kitchen with mini fridge, fireplace, dual head shower, and balcony. Bed was very comfortable. We ate at H.Toads which is attached to the hotel. Food was decent and service was ok. Enjoyed the band playing at Shady Gators on our balcony. Would definitely stay here again!
