Good location - Poor service
Reviewed 13 february, 2019
This is a geml directly facing Sainte Anne beach- very quiet and secluded -unfortunately this hotel looks more like a self serve as you can expect no acomodation you would normally get for the price asked - if you are not too demanding on service and accept to be ripped off to enjoy a nice view, this is your place ..,
Wish it was perfect

We only stayed at Le Diwali one night. But considering the cost this was enough. While the location is beautiful, the bed was comfortable and the owner Phillipe was friendly and helpful, there were several drawbacks. First, you need an access code to enter and exit the property. This code is provided on an information card in the room as “Code Portal”. But if you do not have this code before you arrive it is a challenge to gaine entry - especially if you do not speak French. The room is small, the floor was dusty and there are no extra electrical outlets for charging batteries. In addition other than bulk shower soap, no toiletries are offered. Given the cost of accommodation I did not feel I received value for the money paid. It may be similar to the local competition but other islands offer better value.
France in the Caribbean

Low key, relaxed, this is more a B&B than a hotel. 8 rooms situated next door to the most beautiful beach in Gran Terre. Charming, gracious hosts Jeanne and Philippe prepare your superb continental breakfast served at tables just steps from the Caribbean. Rooms have AC, refrigerator, TV. Yes, it was hard to find (that's because I was never there before). Hosts are available until early afternoon, then you have the place to yourselves. We received a dinner recommendation from our hosts to a place a block or two away, and ate there 3 nights in a row. Stores near by. If you need to feel like you are in the USA, this place is not for you. If you wish to visit France in the Caribbean, come to Le Diwali.

The location is perfect! You are just steps away from the white sand beach and clear water. If you want to explore the town, you can do that on foot too. I agree with the other travelers that you must be low maintenance. The staff usually leaves after breakfast which consists of juice, tea or coffee along with French bread, yogurt, and pastries with jams. The rooms are neat and tidy, but you are only there to sleep. The WiFi is spotty as long as the gate is open. You are provided two access ports, but only one works and it does not work in your room. There were plenty of nights we stood at the gate in order to access the WiFi. But don't let the lack of WiFi dissuade you from this hotel, it has everything you need like free parking, beautiful views, quiet location and just steps away from a beautiful beach. We did not speak a lot of French, but a smile and a few elementary phrases will take you a long way...oh and google translate too.

Pros:Perfect location right on a perfect beach with clear water, white sand ocean bottom.Very close to shops, bars, and restaurants. Perfect. Cons:Guests must be "very" low maintenance. Proprietors leave premises after breakfast....never to be seen again. Property very difficult to find, no signage. All guests given a key to fend for themselves, reception closed. Had a broken car, hosts made the initial call and left for the day. 5 hours later I'm still waiting for help because the car company couldn't find the hotel. Finally the lovely cleaning lady made some calls for me and stayed with me until problem was resolved. I have been all over the world and have never seen such uncaring and irresponsible proprietors as this. SORRY
