The worse hotel ever stayed in our experience as a tour company
We spent one night in this 4 stars central hotel and we booked a superior room with breakfast We found the room not well kept, terribe conditions of the bathroom (see photos) The bedroom was not bad and the staff is really kind, however there is lack of quality, cleaning and attention in the staff. Another issue is the breakfast which was really poor. The hotel is well appointed and in a nice, historical building however we feel this is not a 4 stars, neither a 3 stars. We also paid a deposit for a group in June 2020 and so far, after a cancellation sent more than a month ago, we still did not receive the refund. Please DO NOT GO in this hotel
This hotel is excellent but the facade gives it a bit more glamour than the rest of the hotel does. The foyer is small and not really for having a coffee. If you wish to the very nice roof terrace be aware that during the winter months it's all enclosed. In summer its wonderful. My room is a standard double. Its very nice but a bit small for two staying more than a couple of days. The wi fi is slow. The real boon is the bathroom. A fantastic shower. A huge rose shower head with lashings of hot water. Lovely in the winter but if you've ever stayed in lecce in summer you'll thank god for a good refreshing shower. It also has a separate attachment for ladies who want to shower but not wash their hair. The breakfast is very good served on the roof terrace. The staff are wonderful
Great hotel and location
We enjoyed our stay at Santa Chiara. The hotel is very well located, walking distance to the Duomo and Santa Croce and to many restaurants and shops. The rooms are clean and neat, warm and comfortable. The view from our room window was beautiful.
Noisy! Plus watch for traps...
The location seemed wonderful and the corner room - with its lovely view, charming. And the gentleman at reception was very gracious! ( he gets 5 stars) But the hidden problems started to appear. First no toilet paper on the roll. Fortunately found the reserve roll on the high shelf with the big towels so managed to avoid a serious problem. The shower was a trap for the unwary. Managed to soak my face and sleepwear in cold water as the wand sprayed directly outward when I tried to turn it on. And I needed the cold water to wake up from the only four hours sleep. The screaming outside the hotel went on unabated until 3:30am. I’m fine with noise until midnight but this went on and on until the people gave up and went home. The hotel did nothing. No- I didn’t call or yell down to them as my partner managed to sleep through it and I didn’t want to wake him. Other patrons were similarly disturbed by the noise so it wasn’t just me. The hotel breakfast was also the poorest we experienced in Italy. Too bad as the Terrace view was again lovely.
Well kept, central and with a great breakfast
I spent one night in this hotel due to a wedding invitation. The hotel is central, main attractions are at walking distance. During breakfast i tasted some delicious pastries and local dairy product. The breakfast is served on the hotel rooftop and the view of the city from there is spectacular. The hotel management was cordial and nice. The hotel room was spacious and well adorned.
