Hospitality NO, smelly towels, no extra bottle of water. Just grabbing money and don't disturb them.

Liked · The weather, the pool and the garden. For the rest was my stay terrible, being treated very unfriendly after asking for a clean (non-smelly) towel and 1 bottle of water after my daily running.
DISLIKED · Smelly towels (like a mop), noisy toilet, management very unfriendly, bad internet almost everywhere, no refill of water in the room (although mail correspondence before arrival mentioned 'it would be no problem'), very dark corridor to the rooms (due to shutters, lights are necessary, see photo), no tea/coffee facilities in the room (are tugged far away in the building), barking dog. Breakfast table was just a simple conference table, with only 4 rooms, this didn't match with the rest of the breakfast set up. No hospitality at all! Made reservations for 7 nights, but after an unfriendly discussion about 1 clean towel and a bottle of water, I was sent away (after 2 nights). Ofcourse the rest of my stay was cancelled and booked elsewhere. Still was charged for the full stay for 2 people, while my husband wasn't even there already (would arrive later on that week, due to work). Looked at Booking and saw all their rooms were fully booked!! Hospitality is no where to be found on this property. My compliments about their garden were neglected 'we don't need your compliments'.
I know more about Plantagenet…

After having read some reviews I can only confirm the quality and the beauty of this property.
I had the wonderful suite “Plantagenet” with my wife and 2 friends and we were staying one week visiting all the beautiful chateaux around Chavigny and wine yards as well. We were impressed by the architecture of the Fontrevaud abbey where the graves of the family Plantagenet are.
Very soon a painting gallery will open in this place showing several“impressionist” paintings, gift of an American patron..
Beautiful Loire valley

I am particularly happy to have the opportunity to thank again our hosts who have taken care of us for this 2 night stay.
Everything was perfect and I still remember the bicycle ride we have had in the beautifull and scapes of the Loire Valley.
Clos Chavignyis a magic place where staying looks like a dream, any way it’s a privilege …
Wewill come back next year but for a longer stay.

After a 4 weeks tour of France we have really enjoyed to have the privilege to stay at le Clos Chavigny for somenights, peaceful and sorelaxing.
Welcome has been quite warm and hosts are the most pleasant people we have had the pleasure to meet during our holidays.
It was in September and the beautiful swimming pool was the place where we were staying most of the time.
I would recommend the suite “Alienor d’Aquitaine “:fantastic pieces of furniture and art works including a fresco showing Louis the XIV th in Apollon dress.
Haven of peace.

Peace and beauty seem to be a must at Chavignywhere we were staying for 3 nights. We had the room “Alienord’Aquitaine”,large, beautifully furnished and decorated. On a wall there is a great fresco showing King Louis the 14th, quite impressive. Later on I have discovered downstairs the XVII th century original painting from the Richelieu chateau destroyed in 1830/40 !!!
We will come back.
Thanks to Jean Claude and Moha
Happy new year 2019.
