Do NOT stay here
I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone! (But I will list pros and cons so you can decide for yourself). Pros— Rooms are spacious Location is great. Cons— Hotel is old. The rooms STINK of mildew and cigarette smoke!! Everything is falling apart. We booked a two bedroom suite but were moved to 2 one bedroom suites because the A/C stopped working. In suite #1, the toilet didn’t work. We called for maintenance and was told to come get a plunger and fix it ourselves. Within 20 minutes the toilet overflowed and flooded the floor. In room #2 the the toilet barely flushes. (Both rooms smelled awful) I think prostitutes frequent the building. Two ladies were just hanging around all day and they clearly were not employees. Police were there. (Not security guards..THE POLICE)! Im not sure if the crime rate in the area is bad or if because Frequent guest are unruly. But it made us feel very uncomfortable. There was no breakfast (but I understand that due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Roaches in the rooms and stairwells. Cleanliness is subpar. Carpet& Floors were dirty. I looked as if they only spot sweep.
Super nice front desk
What a great stay at this hotel. Victor and the entire front desk staff was great. Location is great and near business that are open. The front desk staff is one of the nicest that i have experienced this year. Victor the front desk manager and his staff is great. I wish that i had all of the names of the front desk staff, but i will make sure that the general manager is aware of how great his staff is.
Perfect for holiday and separate rooms
We picked this hotel for 3 main reasons - 1. it's location (close to UNT, Denton), 2. they had a suite that had 2 full bedrooms each with their own bathroom and doors that closed, and 3. all of this at a very reasonable price. There were pluses and minuses, and in the end I think because of the availability of the two room, two bathroom suite, and the friendly staff we are likely to return. First, the Cons: 1) The room wasn't the cleanest we've stayed in. There were a couple hairs still visible in the bathroom (in the shower and on the bathroom floor), the door to the bathroom was obviously dirty, the lower cupboards in the kitchen had splattered food dried to them that I scrubbed off when we arrived, and the tiled kitchen area needed swept badly. It always disappoints me when I see a dirty hotel room. I feel like even if your property needs an update, could use some paint or newer carpet or has some askew wallpaper, the easiest and best impression you can make is by presenting a clean room to your guests. 2) I got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night one night and found a millipede crawling on the bathroom floor. I get it, Texas is warmer and wet. I killed it and flushed it, but still not something you're excited to see. 3) The third morning we were there, they basically ran out of food at breakfast or, at the very least, they could not keep up with the extra people. According to their front desk, they had a full house the night before and they must have been short-handed for the breakfast food shift. I understand that this was a holiday weekend, but I don't think that they planned very well. 4) The hot tub, which was the 2nd most important reason we chose this hotel, was empty and non-functioning. If we would have known ahead of time, we may have chosen to stay elsewhere. It was disappointing. We were also informed by other guests that the indoor pool water was very cold. So, we didn't take a dip in there, either. 5) The dishwasher was seriously loud when it ran for the first 30 minutes or so. We tolerated it, but in that small of a space, the sound was amplified. 6) The fireplace wasn't working. According to the front desk, all of them were unusable and would be updated in the future. This was another reason we chose this hotel. It would have been a nice feature to take the chill out of the rainy days and added to the general comfort of the experience. Again, it would have been nice to know ahead of time. Pros: 1 and 2) Having the two bedrooms with doors that close and each with our own bathroom was A-MAZ-ING! Each room was arranged slightly different. One bathroom had more counter space, one bedroom had slightly more walking space. No one could complain about dad's snoring or sister talking in her sleep. If you got annoyed with each other, you could step into the other room to watch TV and shut the door. There was even a pull out couch in the living room, if you so desired. 3) The table was big enough for the 4 of us and nearly all of the Thanksgiving food, and it was light enough to move around a little for best location for whatever we needed it for (games or dining). 4) The staff was very nice and accommodating. My daughter is a music major and had to practice her instrument while on vacation due to an upcoming playing final, and they found her a place to practice for about 30-45 minutes, even with a full house. 5) The location of the hotel was great; easy to get to and close to lots of shopping and dining options. 6) The room had a full size fridge (bigger than dorm size), small range AND oven, a large microwave, and a small dishwasher. All of the appliances worked well. 7) The hotel grounds outside were well-kept and had lovely flowers in the landscaping. Additional comments: These are just comments, things to keep in mind. A) The breakfast area is very small, considering the size of the hotel. If you intend on getting breakfast at one of the more popular times, you will likely be taking your food to your room to eat. B) I wish they had a cookie sheet of some kind for the oven in the room. I thought they might have one, but I was wrong, and I didn't think to ask ahead of time. We also didn't bring any tin foil to improvise (my fault for not thinking of at least bringing that). There really wasn't anything you could put in the oven. There were 2 saucepans and two deep skillets, one medium sized plastic bowl, a small microwavable pan, and a divided microwavable plate, along with enough place settings for 6, one set of measuring spoons and one 2-cup measuring cup. We were able to make everything work, but you might want to throw in some serving and/or cooking utensils if you are having full-blown meals, as there was only 1 big serving spoon. C) The breakfast was OK. They had the basics; some mornings were better than others. Just keep your expectations lower. If you like toast, yogurt, juice, cereal, milk, you'll be just fine. D) I was hoping for a little better set-up in the living room area of the room. There was a love seat, a small sitting chair, and a desk chair. Personally, they could have exchanged the little sitting chair for either a small recliner or wing-back chair to make the room feel more comfortable and accommodating to a family atmosphere. We made it work, but it did make it a little difficult for us to all just relax and hang out in the living room to watch the Thanksgiving Day parade together. One of us always had to hang back - sitting at the desk or kitchen table. Again, we were just happy that all of us were in one place together, so we made it work. E) A broom would have been a nice addition to the room. After meals, we could have swept the floor to get up any mess created during cooking. All-in-all, we will probably choose this hotel again mainly because of the availability of the two bedroom, two bathroom suite and at a very reasonable price.
Never get into this hotel.. one of the worst hotel..
I have very bad experience in this hotel. Ambience or quality of food or cleanness of the room is very poor. We can't even say this is a Marriott brand. When i provided my feedback to them they behaved very rude with me. Staffs are not friendly. Even you are Platinum, will not get upgrade or bottle of water.
This place is near the Vista Ridge Mall. Which is nice, there are places to eat near the hotel. The room we had was near the elevator. Surprise that we did not hear a lot of foot traffic. Then again, we could be very tired from the day. The complimentary breakfast is nice to have, can only eat so much of McDonald's Breakfast.
